I can't stay away from this forum, and all the wonderful people that are here. Times are extremely hard right now. I'm taking each day as a new day, dealing with the pain of losing my angel four years ago, the pain of one of my best friends losing his angel not even a week ago, and now my roommate's uncle is being taken off of life support sometime today. Roommate lost one uncle not too long ago, and now is having to go through losing another uncle within such a short time. LOADS of emotions are going through are house at the moment. But I know I can come here and there are always words of wisdom, new wips an wonderful pictures to read and look at.

On the bright side of things, I taught my roommate to cross stitch last night and so far his really enjoying it. He laughe at me when I first picked up stitching, and always thought I was crazy for saying it helps me forget about what's going on around me and helping me relax. Now he sees its true for himself and he's off stitching. As soon as I get him away the project I'll post pictures for everyone to see, because he still thinks I'm crazy for hanging around here a lot.

I just want to say thank you to everyone that's been sending us well wishes, good thoughts, hugs, and prayers from all over the world! It's means a lot to us!

for you and your roommate. I certainly understand how you feel about the forum and the people here who can provide real support that others don't always understand. I know that I have received so much when I have needed it and am so glad to be able to give some back. And how wonderful that you have been able to share with your roommate your love of cross stitching. I hope he sticks with it and learns how it can provide a respite from things which are hard to bear. My thoughts and prayers are with you while you need them.

I am so glad that the site can give you a bit of comfort. We love to help put the smile back in your heart as well as on your face. It is good to have a place that you feel safe and loved and this place has helped me over the years and still does at times when the world seems to be so out of control.

With so much going on your life right now and all the sadness associated with it, it's wonderful you can come here to relax. The forum is always open, and its caring members support each other in times of stress.
We are from all corners of the world, but here, on this forum, we are "together" -- and a community.
But I guess I'm getting carried away, so I'll just add my support and send a :hug:

Maybe your roommate will even join us! Looking forward to seeing his pictures -- if he lets you post them!

I told him when he picked out his kit that if he gets serious about it like I am, he is to stay away from my stash of threads and charts and collect his own. I'm not one to share, especially since its taken me a few months (I believe) to acquire my stash of threads that I currently have and to kit up several projects that will be started as soon as I order some fabric.

We had a nice road trip yesterday/last night/ early early morning to Oklahoma City, to just get away from all the stress and emotions that have been floating around our house. I now know that my little car can make it there and back home without any problems, and we had loads of fun!

oh, i agree! it's so important, when in the midst of upheaval, to do something "normal" to remind yourself of being normal.

Glad to know you had some fun and a change of scene for a short while. Good on you for laying down the ground rules about stash sharing- or not sharing. Mind you you might have to get a bigger place perhaps??
