Just wanted to say Thank you. I have been in the same job for 24 years. Up to about a year ago, I loved the job. Enjoyed going in every day and there were times when I worked 65 hours a week when projects came up.
About an year and half ago, a new supervisor was assisted to the unit. One with no experience or knowledge on how the unit conducts business. Within weeks of starting in the unit, she let me know that she doesn't trust or even like me and told me that the only way we were going to get along durning working hours was for me to keep my thoughts to myself and my mouth shut. So, I have been doing just that. Keeping in my office (which she made me move across the hall from her, from down the hall). Last week, she tells me that she feels like I'm always listening to her conversations. Tell the true, she is the furthest from my mind or my ears. Between phones, co-workers coming in, not sure how she can think I'm listening to her. And has down graded my position to a data entry clerk. And heard today that she is planning on stripping my title next week. Not really sure, how I have gotten on the wrong side for this young lady, but I have. I have been miserable. So much that I hate going in the office. Sorry, for the long story.
I have read on here, others have quit jobs, started new jobs. Gain and lost love ones. Even moved to a different location to make a new start. And they all sound happy, even with all the pressure of life new beginnings.

So, thank you for all the encouragements.
I have applied for a new position in another hospital that is managed by the company I have been working for this morning. This way I can keep all my benefits that I have built up over the 24 years. But in a different line of duties and I won't have continue to be just a bump on the log, taking what ever someone want to say or do to belittle others to make them feel right about themself. The job posting closes Friday afternoon. So please cross your fingers for me to pass of interviews for the position.

I can never understand how a person can come into a position of power and immediately alienate the people that have done a fantastic job and so totally disrupt the even flow of an office or other work situation and the bosses just let them go. You have worked for 24 years with the company and yet they let a new comer throw you under the bus just because she can..... employers should not let this happen.

Big wishes that you get the other postion and that this person has a big dose of her own Karma......

I totally agree with Rose. I never understand this and yet I have seen it happen so many times and upper management seems to not even know this is happening. I will cross my and my toes and get my girls to cross their paws (extra good luck) that your interview goes well and you get the job. And there may be others available also when you start looking. Keep us informed on what happens. The fact that you are looking is so important and if this isn't the one for you, it will be there eventually.

What a horrid young lady!! Boy she must be threatened by you!! I really hope that you can get a really good job that you can love again. Be strong, stand up for yourself.

Oh dear! Why oh why are these destructive people in the world and how on earth they get positions of power I will never know? (well probably by bulldozing their way through and not caring how much they hurt others in the process!) We have one at our place and I call her the 'Eye of Sauron'! Her eye was recently on our dept. and we lost three staff....(luckily I evaded the eye this time around!)hopefully her attentions will be elsewhere come next term, so I can kinda relate to how you're feeling......I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you!

I am so sorry that this woman has made you feel like this. Like some of the others I too have witnessed this kind of behaviour in my own career and will never understand it I really hope that things work out well for you and you are happy i your future job

Thank you all. Found out today that my app has pass HR requirements which means I met all the qualifications for the postion which was step two. First was getting the app in. But I also found out today that I'm in line with five others (so far) that are already employed there. They are in house. One down fall (we know they prefer to hire from within first) but I haven't let that bring me down. The ball game isn't over yet, just a little curve ball.
Thank you for all the cross fingers, toes and paws. Please hold those alittle bit longer for me.
And thank you for all the encouragement/support. Without y'all I would have stayed in my shy shell and not have the courage to make a move.

PS Should I get the new position and out from under this supervisor, (being spiteful here, so sorry. I usually tried very hard not to be this way)my sweetness will come when I get to turn in my two week notice and watch her scamble those weeks trying to learn all that needs to be taken over.
