Love your avatar! And I'm just about to make :coffee: ! I believe we may well be kindred spirits (do you like schnapps? ) coz my husband maintains/repairs/installs espresso machines, and in Melbourne you can even find them installed in laundrettes

Hello all Forum people - I have just joined and am looking forward to finding some answers to some cross stitch questions. My husband died in May and I have taken it up again as I am now elderly and living alone - another reason to look forward to contacting like minded cross stitchers. At present I am looking for mounting boards and wire frame hangers in Australia and so far have not had any success. Does anyone have any helpful information.

Looking forward to some replies.

Sally

Hi Sally from another Sally in Brisbane - where in this huge country are you based???

So sorry to read about your husbands death earlier this year

Sorry I can't help with your query but if you post it again in the "Wanted" section there are 3 other Brisbane-its on here, as well as some from Sydney and WA that I know of. Mounting boards and matts should be available from your local framers shop. Not seen many wire hangers although in Melbourne thefew I did see were often in quilting shops !!!.

I moved up here from Melbourne 18 mths ago so still finding my way around.

As you have no doubt discovered we love to see photos of your WIP's as well as finished projects.

From one Sally to Another - thanks for your reply. I am still very new to forum etiquette, so did not know there was a "wanted" department.

I have just received a couple of acid free self-stick mounting boards from US, but because of the cost of postage, it would be great to be able to get them in Aussie, though from enquiries at various craft stores, it seems they have not been heard of here.

I will try quilt shops for the wire hangers, as I have a cross stitch Christmas Angel almost finished which I would like to hang on a wire hanger.

Thanks again for your prompt reply.

Keep trying Sally and do post something about them in either WAnted or General Section - you will find these headings on the index page . I am sure someone will have some ideas.

They sound marvellous and I am wondering if Sewitall down in Port Macquarie might have something try www.sewitall.com.au and have a look as they have recently branched out into frames etc and in fact I think they have wire hangers too - can't remember. The guys are very helpful and very prompt with their replies if you email them at "shop@sewitall.com.au".

Hope you can find a source for these great sounding self stick mounting boards.

Hello everyone!

I picked up a Birth announcement type cross stitch kit a few months ago, and have had questions about it, so I decided to poke around the internet to see if I could find a forum of cross stitchers - and ended up here!

I am a knitter/crocheter, and the mother of a 1 year old little girl. I was expecting this cross stitching kit to be more of a one-and-done type thing, but now I think it's going to become a new hobby of mine :) I look forward to learning lots from you all!
