My Goals and a new book!

Post by playswithpaper »

I think I mentioned that I'm a newbie. I have 3 projects...A birth sampler for my nephew, my recently acquired Dimensions kit for my SIL, and a chart that Skitzzzzz had made for me. So, after I complete these 3 projects....I want to make myself something. I don't have very lofty goals....but I want to learn to use evenweaves and or linens, stitch over two and I have to learn specialty stitches, as my goal is to make one of the Victoria Samplers patterns (they are all so beautiful). So, I found this on Amazon....for 49 cents! (and $3.99 shipping)....it arrived yesterday. I was reading it last night...what a wealth of information! I do believe it just might be the best $4.48 I've ever spent!! Here is my lovely book....

I think this is going to be an awesome journey!

Nice purchase!!! It looks like you'll be busy for a long time, reading and trying new stitches.

Funny, I have that book on my windowsill near me, I got it out to sell but then my mum has just started cross stitching (she's already got two on the go.....) so she wants it now!!

Look forward to seeing your projects :)

I felt the same when I got Jo Verso's 'Complete Cross Stitch Course' for £0.01p + £2.80 postage. Just what I needed at the time, and the best spent £2.81 ever. Hope you have fun with it.

Just one thing - if you stay here too long, you're likely to develop beyond it very quickly.

Regards,

Richard.

I've just bought Jane Greenoff's latest book...such wonderful samplers and patterns in it. She makes a box...just for scissors needles and stitching bits and bobs...so pretty! And I love her use of linen.

I'm sure that the book you have will be a wonderful addition to your stitching library  and at a great price too :whoop:

Bargain! I've got that book plus one of her others with all flower designs in it. I love how clear the instructions and charts are in them. Have fun :)
