Embroidery and film

Post by Serinde »

Well, I almost called this tread "Embroidery Porn". That's what this is. I'm not a watcher of Game of Thrones, but I always appreciate gorgeous embroidery wherever it may be found. This is some serious talent!

I thought it'd all be printed or stuck.
Wow. The budget must be astronomical.

Absolutely beautiful!! I am often amazed when I see how detailed some of the costumes on movies/tv are made. In the dvd special featuresthe Lord of the Rings movies is a section on costume design. Everything was handmade and because much of the journey is arduous, costumes had to be made in many different types of wear and tear. Can't begin to imagine it.

This is an astounding embroiderer. Thank you so much for sharing her with us.

I have an acquaintance whom I follow on Facebook because she's a pretty amazing cosplayer. Her sewing is really top-notch! https://www.facebook.com/EnaylaCosplay/" target="_blank" target="_blank

Anyways she wants to do Ellaria Sand's dress from the Oberyn-Mountain match, and was looking up the reference pictures, and jokingly made a post about finding an unfinished seam. It's pretty funny, but her work is really fantastic. She did everything from start to finish, even striping fabric for Anna Henrietta's sleeves from The Witcher.
