Scissors

Post by Roland »

I wanted to pick up another pair if scissors. I love my stork embroidery scissors that I've had for years, but I don't remember what brand they are.

I also had a nice pair with a blue and green handle. They broke and I bought what I thought was the same brand at Michaels, but it's their yucky store brand.

Don't want to get burned again. I found a pair of stork scissors at Fabricland. The brand is "Tailors". But, the store has a lot of very different products under the name "Tailors" which makes me think they are not scissors experts. Anyone familiar with "Tailors"?

The link is to Fabricland web site to show the packaging.

I'm fairly certain Gingher makes embroidery scissors in the stork shape. I've always been partial to my Gingher sewing shears. Good luck, let us know what you find.

I agree that Gingher is a quality brand. I also have Fiskars that I'm happy with. I don't know who makes the scissors that are branded for DMC, but I've used them and they feel like they're decent quality. Tailors probably doesn't make their own scissors. It's likely that a manufacturer makes the scissors that are then branded with the Tailors name. I don't know who that is.

I use Fiskars. They were a bit expensive, but 6 years on, they are still as sharp as when I bought them.

I bought a pair of 4" embroidery scissors from Mabel Figworthy who is a member of this forum and they are the best scissors I've ever had! Very sharp, just the right size for me, and come with a handy plastic cover :)
