Uhm, you do know it's only 2 by 3 metres, right
? And unlike the Stash & Grab it's not infinitely expandable! Never mind, we'll see how many we can squeeze in once all the craft stuff is in place!

This is really exciting!
We do what you did : Clear the dining room table when people come to dinner. Afterwards, when we put things back, I always find something missing!
It will be so lovely for you to have all your things in one place and leave your project as it is and come back to it later.
Let's have a party in the Stash & Grab!

this will be fablous when finished. Have you decided on an official opening day day? also will your 2 sons stretch a ribbon across the door so you can cut it? Party sounds great.

Were you amazed at how much 'stuff' you actually have now that you can see almost all of it together? I think that is why I have dithered around about clearing and sorting out my craft cupboard - don't really want to know what is in there.

Sally, I did know pretty well what and how much I have - what I didn't realise is how spacious an old-fashioned chest of drawers is! It definitely takes a lot of shelves/small drawers to equal that.
Another thing I will probably do is make a curtain for the new bookcases, to shield the boxes of threads from light. It's not absolutely necessary as the room's only window is north-east facing and the bookcases are on the north-facing wall so not much direct sunlight if any, and whenever I'm not there the curtains are kept closed, but just to be on the safe side - not a priority though.
It'll be lovely to be able to leave the lightbox out, ready to do a quick bit of transferring, and possibly leave the sewing machine out as well, as an incentive to start learning to use the ruddy thing!
As I said I won't be doing much actual stitching there, I prefer to do that in the sitting room with DH, but it's nice to know I do have a place to do any work that needs a lot of concentration. And it's got a view of the garden to boot

I like the tranquil picture on your dining room wall Mabel. It must be very relaxing to look at - giving the room a good ambience for dining

I brought it with me from the Netherlands, Izzi - I grew up not far from the sea (not exactly next door to it, but within easy public transport reach) and bought this picture when I was a penniless student and really couldn't afford it. It's my reminder of Scheveningen beach, even though that is not actually the one pictured.

The second storage tower has arrived! Now to transfer the clutter from the floor to the drawers....

Fabulous!
Will you label the drawers? Have you decided what will go where, in the Rainbow towers? It is exciting, Mabel!

At the very least you will get plenty of exercise bending down and lifting up but please do be careful how you do the bending and straightening up.

I was given two by a friend from Kenya, and had never worn them (DH does wear sarongs sometimes, and has now claimed the one with batik elephants) - but when I was looking for fabric to turn into a small curtain across one of the bookcases, I remembered them and they turned out to be almost exactly the right size, and pre-hemmed

I had 2 sarongs from Bali or Thailand. Never wore them as such, but used the fabric to make waistcoats for my grand daughters.
Those rainbow units are so bright and cheerful. I wouldn't label the drawers.... much nicer to open each one and find all those treasures held within. Great for inspiration when you 'need' to stich but have no ideas to hand

The contents are a bit eclectic, but I suppose they could inspire
Two pictures to whet your appetite - The Den/Clutter Room as it was, and Lexi inspecting the new version:
