Bingo - stitching and watching - and the winner is...

Post by fccs »

Okay, I've tried to come up with something clever or unusual for my Bingo and nothing came to mind. So I'm sitting at my desk and staring at my bookcase...can't do a book Bingo because I've done that. And I start noticing how many DVD's I have and suddenly - BINGO! My theme is what I like to watch while stitching.

So, here are your 30 choices:

1 Bobby
2 MLB
3 October Sky
4 Crazy Stupid Love
5 Tortilla Soup
6 The Other Woman
7 The Natural
8 For Love of the Game
9 The Sandlot
10 Major League
11 Taking Care of Business
12 Gilmore Girls
13 Everwood
14 Mad Men
15 The Dick Van Dyke Show
16 St. Elsewhere
17 The Bob Newhart Show
18 Benny & Joon
19 Mighty Ducks
20 Despicable Me
21 Space Cowboys
22 RED
23 The Hundred Foot Journey
24 The West Wing
25 Coach
26 Doctor Who
27 Moneyball
28 It's Complicated
29 While You Were Sleeping
30 Maid in Manhattan

Pick ten numbers and PM your choices to me by July 27th. I'll draw the first two numbers the 28th. The first person to PM me with a valid bingo will be the winner. The prize will be a $15 USD gift certificate from the on-line store of your choice.

How does all that sound? Let's play.

Numbers sent!!! I was interested in your choices. Very different from my dvds which are mostly in the sy fy/fantasy range. Mysteries and historical movies I usually get from the library or Netflix. I used to listen to audiobooks a lot more than I do now. Especially since my "to be listened to" list has gotten as long as my "to be read" list. But I am getting a lot of stitching in.

I suggest you put up a few reminders every once in a while on the General forum. I mostly click on new or active posts to catch up with everyone rather than going forum by forum which I think a lot of people do. :x: we get more participation!

Bumping this one up. Four days and only one player? You all are hurting my feelers. :-)

Oh dear, Debby, I am sorry, I hope more players come forward.

Sorry but I am going to have to duck again for the moment - I haven't currently got the time to organise another bingo if I win. :?

Eight days later and only two players? Have I done something to offend you all? :-) Come on, give Bingo a try. It's fun and it's free.

Have you tried posting about the Bingo in the "General" Section? I think I lot of forum members read threads by individual sections, like Stitch-a-long or General or Welcome so are not likely to ever see the threads about competitions. I am just surprised that none of the new members have signed up. I don't know if people don't think they can come up with subjects or are not sure they can give a gift or what it is. I think I mentioned before that the Annual Fairy Day Bingo on the HAED BB seems to have a lot less participants this year too and that one asks you to pick 10 out of the 500+ Fairy charts they have. But it is winnable since I won it several years ago. Maybe we need to do a post that asks why there is increasingly less participation? I know it has nothing to do with you!!!

Bumping this one up (again), hoping to get more players. I've got four - yes, just four. What's up with that? :?

Maybe it is because it is still summer over there and towards the end of school holidays (I think) and people are out and about enjoying the last of summer. Down under winter has decided to stay a while this year so inside is the place of choice. :D

Question for my players (Tyledres, Wendywombat, Squirrel, rcperryls) - do you want me to start the game today as planned or should I/we wait and see if more people want to play? I'm doubtful about getting more interest, but I will do whatever the majority prefers.

If it was me hosting I think I'd hang on for while. I think you'll get more players after the summer break.
There's been a lot of newbies joined recently and I think once they've got the feel of the Forum they could be interested in 'flexing their muscles' .
I'll go with the majority vote though.

I agree! It won't hurt to wait a while.

Debby - I agree with the others that it might be better to wait until a bit later on - perhaps a week or so after schools go back and people have settled down to routine again.

The consensus is to wait (and that's what my thought was, as well), so wait I will. I'm thinking of maybe September'ish? I'll try to periodically bump this up so it gets some attention. I just don't want anyone to think I'm flaking out on my job of hosting since I won the last one. I know we've had that problem before but I'm not doing that - honest.

Oh, and I'll keep the same subject and numbers, so unless any of you decide you don't like your numbers, you can stay with what you originally sent me. Sound good?
