That's fantastic, very well done. You have put a lot of work into that beautiful creature with so many similar colours. It is exquisite.

What a beautiful finish on the Cheetah. You've inspired me to try to work towards a finish soon.

Thank you very much for all the kind comments. I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out and I think it is going to become the first project I get framed, might even make it onto the wall of the house I'm trying to buy.

Good luck! The best thing about a finish for me is I can start something new - my rule is no more than three WIPs.AlwaysGoofy wrote:You've inspired me to try to work towards a finish soon.

Re: Rosemary's 2015 progress - New start May 23
So having finished a project I've allowed myself a new start, a Golden Kite chart of a painting by Albert Bierstadt - The Shore of the Turquoise Sea.
Original and progress so far:
I'm stitching 2 over 1 on 22ct which is a lower count than I usually like but the highest I've found I can sensibly use with 2 strands, which I have to with all the blended threads. I do like the result though - no pain, no gain!

That will be quite spectacular when finished. It is a gorgeous image, so beautifully realised.
Thinking about future stitching with blending, could you not use 2 threads with tent stitching over 28ct, rather than full crosses? I'm not using blending with my current project, but it is 2 over 1 on 28ct tent stitch. The coverage is quite good, and you could probably go to 32ct if you really want to up the numbers.
Regards,
Richard

Re: Rosemary's 2015 progress - New start May 23
Yes I considered that but I prefer full cross for the coverage (although I can see yours does have good coverage) and also was concerned that single stitches of a colour, of which there are a lot, might get hidden and I might lose detail. I spent ages deciding how I was going to do it - hobbies shouldn't cause sleepless nights should they?richardandtracy wrote:

Re: Rosemary's 2015 progress - Update June 17
A bit more done on Tree of Life:
And the whole thing so far:
It was so nice (and much quicker) to go back to stitching with one strand after all the blended threads in the Turquoise Sea. I know blends give a better result but I am just not that keen on multiple strand stitching!
Thanks for looking.
