I really want this kit but it is so expensive has anyone stitched it?

Was it worth the investment?

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful. I have not stitched it so cannot help you but looking at it I think that it would be gorgeous to stitch. Hope that you do stitch it because this will be a wonderful one to watch.

Have you shopped around on the internet, sometimes great deals mean that you can buy something that was only in your dreams previously.

I thought that too and ordered the chart only.

However when I saw the thread and bead list I reallised why the kit is so much. Just the speciality threads without any of the beads and fabric add up to more than the kit when ordered in the UK.

But I really want it stitch it so I may have to invest :roll:

I have no idea how much all those wonderful sounding silks would be to buy seperately and I see the price does not include the DMC floss ... but it is sooooo beautiful!!

One thing I checked - the cost of their charts is good - I compared the AAN chart I bought and it works out (with exchange rates) cheaper here, than I paid direct from the Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks site!! :roll:

Oh that is such a pretty design. I can see why you want it. Maybe if you gradually save for it you wont feel so guilty.

(how big is it exactly?) so I suppose you'd have to offset it against all the smaller projects you'd be doing otherwise!
Not sure if the kit would come cheaper than getting everything yourself (it would definitely be less hassle :-)

) -- the silks alone are going to blow quite a hole in the budget, although they tend to be cheaper in the US than over here. Lovely materials though :wub:

Really lovely Kerry. I have just found these charts recently and there are 2 I must stitch up today @rotfl:

Choices, splash out and worry about it later as you have said, or buy fabric (if you havn't already got some) and a few threads to start it and then a few more and so on, or start saving 50p or small change or whatever you have left at the end of the week if any) and then buy :thinks:

Mabel -I'm afraid I tried adding up all of the speciality threads on So & sew and the total overtook the kit cost before any crystals or 11 packs of beads were added

It does look amazing, maybe if you do a search you might be able to get it elsewhere, as prices vary from site to site, the ones I bought range from £34.75 (price I paid) to £60.00+ for Maia Geishas

I had a quick tot-up just for the silks and the Treasure Braid, comparing Sew & So and Stitching Bits & Bobs. They were about equal in price on the Silk 'n' Colours, but if you bought the Waterlilies, Gloriana and Treasure Braid from SB&B you'd save about £28.50 at the present exchange rate, and even with their postage taken into account you'd save £20 :shock:

Christ, $212!!!!! I know my own budget couldn't stretch to it, but if you love it and know you'll definitely stitch it right ot the end, it might work out marginally cheaper than buying everythig separately...

No Kerry I am not going this year, I was sooooo disappointed in November as only about 6 stitchy stalls there and one of them selling kits said it was their last show (can't remember which one). The money i save on train fare, tickets, lunch etc I can buy stash with :lol:

plus what I would have spent on stash. I can also spend that whole day stitching :thinks:

Janet- Is November the craft one ? March is stitching so there should be lots!
