Rose Quaker Framed

Post by Raine »

I've had Rose Quaker by Stickideen von der Wiehenburg going for a while now. It's a really relaxing project because there is little to no color change within an individual motif and no fractional stitches. It's easy to pick up and put down when I want to move on. I've already used part of one of the pretty motifs on the cover of a needle book I made for a friend but didn't take a picture of. I need to work on something relaxing for a bit so I'm coming back to it. I'm using 32ct linen and DMC floss.

Here is where I am now.

:applesauce: That is beautiful. I have never worked on linen. Is it 1 over 2? It is just elegant.

Maude wrote:It really is a stunning pattern - I look forward to seeing it develop. It's a good idea to re-use the motifs. Are all the colours from one shade range or is it a mixture?
The colors are reds, pinks, tans, and browns. They look so beautiful together. The designer uses words like cocoa, mocha, dusty pink, and rosy tan.

   Wow! What a gorgeous sampler--very pretty and definitely would be able to use parts of it for numerous projects! Great stitching on it and I definitely will be looking forward to your next update on it. I love roses  How large will it be when it's completed??

That is a lovely design and how beautifully the colours blend in together. I can well understand it would be relaxing to stitch. Great work

Ooh the colors on this are nice- looks antique-y already. And I can see many of the small designs used for other things.

Beautiful design and stitching!

I checked out the site at http://www.wiehenburg-online.de/" target="_blank and it has lovely designs, along with some freebies. There is no tab for freebies on the menus, but there are some in a few of the different sections. There's a Tree of LIfe, a very pretty flower design, blackwork, etc.
Have a look!

Thanks for sharing - hadn't heard of this designer. :)

Here's where I am now. Looks a little wrinkly! I stitch in hand and make a big mess with linen. Thank goodness for steam irons. I had a brain storm about a little mini project I want to do quickly while I'm waiting for my birthday bonanza Chatelaine stuff to arrive, so I'm putting this away again. It's such a great project to do so because each motif gives a sense of completion.
