As y'all can see, I grided up this whole page (probably won't grid up all of every other page...haven't decided yet) but this is how far I got today when.....ding-dong, mail man brought me my supplies for the Stuart frame up! (have a picture but I'm waiting for my son to download it from my cell phone, so I'll post it a bit later)

Erm... correct me if I'm wrong - but I always thought it was 'star of David', not Jacob, and that that wasn't one of Jesus' titles anyway? Also - isn't Jehovah the name of God in the Old Testament, and also not one of Jesus' titles? Of course, I'm aware of the need to get a nice balanced and effective design - which it IS! - but I'm wondering if it's strictly accurate...??? (Sorry! Picky, picky, picky me! I just like to get things right in my own mind! )

I believe that Jesus has many names that aren't even represented in this design. It was a free patern I got for signing up at one stitching website for their newsletter. I don't like how close the 2 darker floss' are, they are too close to each other for my thought.

It's a jolly nice freebie! I often think certain colours in a design I am stitching don't look 'right' together, but by the time the project is complete, it looks fine. I'm sure this one will, too.

What I mean is that to my eyes these 2 colors are soooo similar (DMC 311 & 312) and the 3rd one is an odd addition (DMC 322).

The finished example almost looks like 2 colors, a dark blue & a lighter one (at least, to me.)

It's looking lovely in all those blues! Odd about those colours, on my DMC shadecard (a digital image, so not as accurate as a real one) 311, 312 and 322 are all very distinct . Even odder, 322 and 312 are part of the same series but 311 comes from a different "family". Perhaps the difference will show up more once you've stitched more of it?

Fljots, I agree that star of David is more usual (in fact, Googling "star of Jacob" brings up some very odd sites) but as for Jehovah, yes it is the name of God in the Old Testament but that same OT has a prophecy which is generally applied to Jesus (and immortalised in Handel's Messiah) beginning "and His name shall be called Wonderful", and the list includes "Everlasting Father", so perhaps applying Jehovah to Him as well is not that different?

Great update and all those blues are so restful. Great going. Just give the cats something else like your housework bug would be a good thing to give them to play with so they leave your stitchy bug alone.
