WOW! It has been a long time since I updated this one  I started page 3 12/8/14 and thought I'd probably do a 1/4 or 1/2 page which is what I usually do. Of course, the holidays did get in the way of some of my stitching time, but as I worked on the kittens I had so much fun, so kept going until I had the page done. This morning.

From start to finish, I had two additional kitties wanting to watch the progress:

Now that Laverne has lost weight, both fit in my lap and are very cooperative until one gets greedy and wants to take over by herself.

This is a close-up of page 3
Image
First the wings, then the halo and the candle that the angel is holding amazed me. Then when I could see the glasses of the kitty in the green cap, I was so excited. Once the kitties were stitched, I thought the blue sky wouldn't take long . Faster than the confetti full kittens, but more subtle color changes than I remembered. I love the tree branches.

So far this is what the first 3 pages look like:

Now I'm going to go "Dancing with the Cat" for a while and then start on my "Plum Pudding" piece (which I plan to take with next month on my big trip. Will be posting the itinerary shortly to see if anyone will be close by to meet us.)

Thanks for looking,

Carole

:whoop: :whoop: :whoop: Great to see the Ladies again and please pass on an ear scratch from me and a nose to nose touch from Tuppy. My Laverne has lost weight hasn't she - poor lass. An extra cuddle too

Love this one of yours and so lovely to see it again too. I really don't know how you can put it down at all. A fabulous update on it all.

WOW! I am going to have to work on this more than once a year if I ever get near to finishing it (or live to at least 105 and be able to stitch - probably will need someone to thread my needles though). Anyway, I have finished a little more than 1/2 of page 4 and some of page 5. The border on the right was a little bit tricky since I clearly didn't leave quite enough fabric, but just enough that I can still keep it in the hoop.

Have had a lot of assistance with this one and had to get a picture of her, before I could even think about getting a pic of the design:
Image

This is how much is completed now
Image

and another pic of Miss Laverne who believes y'all need to know who does the supervising
Image

and a close up of what it took over a month to do which is from the about the 4th jewel on and much of the blue sky. My excuse is that it was over the Holidays and then my nephew visited so I had a little less time for stitching.
Image

I was really hoping to finish the top row this round but didn't happen. :(Still I really enjoy this piece :D and wish I'd known about tenting on 28 count when I started.

Thanks for looking

A big ear rub to Miss Laverne for being such a good supervisor that you worked on her favourite piece. So lovely to see the dear lady.

Fabulous to see the update, I was beginning to wonder if you had given up on it. The colours of this one are really showing up now. A great update. :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

Both Ms Laverne and your project are beautiful! Glad you got back to it and your supervisor is keeping you on task.

I too wish I had considered tenting my HAED. I love the way it looks, and I'm getting faster and faster, but there are so many that I would like to do... Plus there are some that are so large at my current speed it would be over a decade before I could finish them. Somehow, spending 5 or 6 years on a project seems reasonable to me, but spending over 10 seems absurd. :?

This is definitely one of my favorite Spanglers. I love his artwork as well as the color palette that he uses. You're making great progress, and I'm sure you'll finish well before you're 105. I have a feeling this piece will be calling for you again in the near future. :D
