So, yesterday....it took me about 7 hours of prep to be ready to cross stitch this pattern for a friend and his wife for xmas....

I figure, I need to do at least 3 to 4 squares a day to finish it on time to mail it to California for xmas. The pattern will be 10.3X14.25 inches in size...the Q Snap I bought (the store had them!) actually is rather large:)

I used to think this was a LOT of floss....

Then I bought for this project

Planning to start stitching today...

Looks like you will be busy for a while. Don't forget to post pics often so we can cheer you on.

So, I've done approximately 2 hours worth of stitching :)

I never imagined so many colours could be included in white :D

That is a lot of prep time. I've never paid attention to how long that takes me. And I can't see the picture either. :(

The only reason I really paid attention is because while I was doing the thread - I watched 30 minutes of a DVR'd program, and then sat through 5 episodes of Law and Order before my husband got home from work (and spent until 6PM helping me finish :D). Then the gridding - had a friend over until about 30 minutes before we usually go to bed, I was thinking it would take maybe 40 minutes to grid  Yea...I miscalculated a bit

Some had asked what this will look like, this is my friend's photo that I'm stitching :)

Originally had a black background....yea, that didn't work, so I kinda edited the photo :)

So, I did about 800 stitches today....just had to pull out about 600 :( Somehow I missed an entire block of blue within a huge block of white :( I even tried to figure out how to fix it w/o pulling everything out :( Oh well...I think tomorrow I'm going to stitch from a different point, and I'll go back to that point later :ribbit: :anotherfrog: :anotherfrog:

:( so sorry to hear that Mr :ribbit: visited. I had to pull out at least that many stitches on a piece I finished early this year because I had used the wrong color stitching a huge color block. So annoying and that was in a tent stitch so took half the time a full x would have. Don't blame you for stitching a different part for a while.
