Baby Announcement - 2013 and 2015 and Ornate Rooster - Final

Now that the stitching bug has taken a big ol' bite out of me again, I started my newest project last night. Elly has recently told me that we are expecting our first child and she is due May 2013. She has asked me to stitch a birth annoucement and we picked out the Tobin Baby from Tobin Home Crafts. I haven't done a kit that wasn't from Dimensions before so it is interesting to see how other companies lay out their kits. I must admit, I do see the quality of the Dimensions name brand already, but I still love this project. Hope to keep you more up to date from now on, but I think I've said that before,

Just thought I would do a quick update on the Baby Annoucement. I got a lot done in the first two weeks of working on this project but this past week, with Christmas time, I didn't get much done. This picture is from last week, but are still very current. Today, we setup some of the baby furniture in the room, so it has become more real every day

Time to do some serious updating on this forum of my projects.

This one was completed in December 2013. As you can see, your first born, Casen, was born in April 2013. He ended up being 6 weeks early as he wasn't to be born until June 2013. But happy to report that he is a very healthy, active kid and no problems with being born so early.

This cross stitch toke about a year to complete but it also found the shelf for many months. In the end I think it toke about 4 months of actual work to complete. This one was not Dimensions and now I see the quality of their products. I had to adjust the boarder of this design as there just wasn't enough fabric around the edges. If I didn't adjust the design, then there would not have been anything left in order to frame the project. We are still very happy with it though.

The next one I completed was from Dimensions called Ornate Rooster. This one I finished in August 2014. My wife has a rooster theme in the kitchen and really wanted to have this one up on the wall which is why I completed this one. It toke about six months to complete. I originally wanted to get it done for her birthday but at the end I had more motivation as I wanted to start the next project (next post in this thread)...
