Crikey!! Thanks for all the lovely comments folks. I'm addicted to this one at the moment!!!
Here's where I got to last night
Image
I meant to say that I've subbed out everything I can for DMC which leaves the few silks and metallics I showed on the first page of this thread. I'd love to be able to use all the recommended silks, but until both girls become doctors or something and can start to support us for a change, it ain't going to happen!!
Thanks for looking

 It's beautiful!!! When your girls become doctors do you think they could send some silks my way too? The design looks gorgeous without the silk

Great update Jo! I always think Chatelaines stitch up quite quickly, although I do find myself saying "I might as well start the next part while I'm here.......", you know how it goes! I think it's awesome that you are stitching it in mainly DMC - these designs always look fantastic regardless of whether you use silk or cotton, but I would say that as I am biased anyway! Really looking forward to your next updates - I'm trying to settle on what BAP Chat I want to start sometime next year so your updates will be very inspiring  !

I think it's looking lovely already. Using DMC hasn't toned down the colours or design at all. Beautiful work. :applesauce:

Thank you for the encouragement (not that I'm needing any with this one!!)
Here's where I'll be picking this one up once the girls are in bed tonight
Image
That's all the crosses done in the very middle, I just need to do all the border and that'll be the crosses in the first part finished, then the specialist stitches. I'm leaving attaching the beads to the very end in case I damage them.
The 'holes' in the stitching of the four points of the cross are waterlily flowers which will have Jessica stitch with a big sprakly in the centre. The fractional stitches in these and the waterlily leaves were particularly challenging (I'm stitching on 32 count) and I had to resort to a size 28 needle to get through the stitches and find the hole!!

I'm LOVING stitching this one :D
Thanks for looking
