Have not got the pic to hand but got all the stuff together for this last year and have now got round to starting it, it has approx 52 000 stitches in it and i expect it to take me more than a year it is intended to be a gift for my mum when it is finished.
I started it while away and this is 3 days progress so far, also posted a pic of a little something that i also did it has yet to be finished off into its final shape i will post a pic of that when its finished.
this is the pic from the magazine
the stag so far, the teeny bit of light brown at the top left is his leg this is done on 14 count aida
and the rose for my other project and this was done on 28 count evenweave it is only small

The rose is lovely. Size doesn't matter. And you have a good start on your new project. I am looking forward to seeing this one progress.

Oh! I think I have that design myself. It's the one from the Spring 2011 issue of Enjoy Cross Stitch, right?
Excited to see your work on it!

OMGoodness, may I ask what magazine that is from???? My mother would love that as well, she lives where there are loads of elk and deer. I crocheted her a table runner with deer for her once and she loves it.

Re: stag picture from a magazine edited to include photo
Thanks all for the encouragement I feel I may need a lot with this project lol,
The magazine it is from was indeed the Spring 2011 issue of Enjoy Cross Stitch, well spotted noctifyre.
I have been doing this one this week along with one of my monkeys for a birthday present but plan to rotate it with my castle and a cardigan my daughter wants me to knit for my grandson and I have 4 other monkeys to do as well so I am going to have to manage my free time a bit better lol oh and I still have to make the rose up as well!
Why do we take on so much?

Re: stag picture edit to include rose project finished
Hi there, have got an update on the stag which is growing much faster than I expected, most likely as there are fairly good sized blocks of colour at present and it is a new and interesting project lol
The next pic is my rose project that I saw in my magazine last year, my nan gave me her last surviving cup and saucer as it fit the design so well, sadly she died only a few days later so she never got to see what I did with it but as a seamstress for most of her working life I am sure she would have loved the use I am going to put it to. Thank you nan, love you forever and will think of you everytime I craft

What a wonderful idea for the tea cup. It looks as if that pattern was made especially for that cup!!!!!! Very inventive!!!!!!!!
