New year, new thread and I'm hoping to fill this with lots of lovely finishes
I'm continuing with The Flower Sampler Book by Jane Greenoff. It's nearing completion now so should be finished in the next few months. Unless, that is, I get too distracted with my new start.
I spotted this on Etsy a couple of weeks ago and just could not resist it. It looks a little like Sammie, don't you think? It's not the type of design that I usually stitch, but I'm quite determined to do it.
I'm stitching on 18ct Aida, 2 over 1. There are just seven colours in it - lots of navy, with a few other colours scattered in there.
I also want to start something smaller and I'm torn between this, which I know will be a fairly quick and easy stitch by CCN.
Or this, which is something a bit different, but oh so pretty.
I'm thinking that I should leave that until I've finished The Flower Sampler Book, but I really want to start it now. Decisions, decisions...

Lovely projects, and I was surprised to see all the colours that go into the "black & white" cat design!

Wonderful projects! You can't make a wrong decision, no matter what you decide.

Lovely projects, love the cat but like the house too. Wonder which one you will start first

Oh, I love the cat and I'll be looking for updates.
As for the two smaller ones...I know what I would do: I'd start both. (I hate to choose one and hurt the other's feelings.)

Very interesting choices. You should start with whichever one is calling you the loudest right now.

Well I've started the cat. I gridded it and have done a few hundred stitches in the dark navy. It was quite relaxing doing just one colour while watching several episodes of Stargate Atlantis
I've also picked out a nicer fabric for the little sampler and that's now in my WIP bag ready to start. (the fabric it came with was 28ct but very stiff. I prefer Cashel or Jobelan.)
I like the idea of not hurting the feelings of any of them, so maybe I'll do a few stitches on the cottage too this week

Excellent advice. It is important to have a project's full cooperation to eliminate problems (like the fabric moving when you aren't looking and causes you to miscount and then have to frog a section).

A most unusual cat one and I am glad you have started it Carole. The other 2 are lovely designs so I can see a busy stitching year ahead of you.

I've finished another page of the Flower Sampler Book.
I loved stitching the teeny-tiny hemstitch square with it's micro-sized dove's eyes.
And although the prep for the drawn thread work was fiddly, the stitches themselves were a joy to do. I love the effect.
Just one more double page left to do plus two single pages. Then I just have to sew the pages together and assemble the book. The end is in sight methinks
