HAED Dragon Rip by Anne Stoked - update 9 Nov - link added

Post by Oriettait »

There we go! i started another one!!
It is stitched on black Lugana, I ordered 25 count but I am not sure what happened it turned up to be more like 27 count... maybe the dying process? not sure...
anyway I had a couple of false start as gridding with the Sulky Metallic turned out to be a nightmere as trying to stitch with no grid... I ended up driving to the fishing store with my frame to look for a suitable fishing line and found a pretty blue one that did the trick!
I am removing the background as i go, there was nothing going to convince me to stitch 57 skeins of black
Here is the first page done and a picture of how it will look like when its done :)

If you are doing it on black fabric, it seems nuts (or even worse than nuts) to stitch over the fabric in the same colour.

It is a picture I'd be happy to have on my walls at home.

Nice - and a good start.

Great start. It's going to be exquisite! And I like the idea of not stitching the background. That would almost be a waste of time and with it unstitched, the design will just pop!!!

I love the picture. I agree that absolutely should be done on black fabric instead of stitching all that black. 57 skeins of black ?!?! Good grief, who would chart it that way? Oh, it's a HaED. Nevermind, asked and answered.

:applesauce: Great start. I agree it's really going to pop on the black lugana. :applesauce:

Great choice to stitch this on black fabric instead of stitching all that! Looking very forward to seeing your progress on this one!!

Some progress on my dragon, he is slower than my other because the black fabric is a bit harder to work with but I have finished the first row of pages, well sort of as i am not stitching the black :-)

Yes. That's great. It would be plain nuts to stitch the black, but it is much more difficult to stitch on black fabric.

I'm glad you are getting on with it, and it is really nice to see the progress. Do want to see it finished - it's the sort of thing my daughters would love for me to do for them.

Regards,

Richard.

Great start and it seems very sensible to not stitch the background :)

I love that one! I totally agree, I wouldn't want to stitch all that black either. I hope your eyes are better than mine with all that stitching on black.
