Dahliadoll’s 2018 CCS Goals/Progress (Updated 1/1/19)

Greetings!

I’m back with a new 2018 list of CCS plans, again listing birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc. that I would like to at least stitch some cards for. I’m also thinking about trying my hand at some small punch needle embroidery for cards. I did some years ago. My usual stitching time, especially in the winter months is in the evening while watching TV. I do need to spend some of that time working on a felt kit Christmas stocking. That could set me back a bit on the CCS stitching.

2018:
  • *Crafting themed CCS chart for shadowbox frame (This is a UFO from 2016. Put on the back burner because it’s for me.)

    January
    • No special dates this month which is great to give me a head start for the rest of the year.
    February
    • Valentine's cards-14th (Leslie, Emelie, Iris, Sonja, Julia, Shirley) (machine embroidery)
    April
    • Easter (Leslie/family, Emelie/family, Grunwald) (machine embroidery)
      BD cards (Kathy-5th, Leslie-6th, Susan-11th, Iris-23rd) (computer and/or purchased)
    May
    • Mother's Day cards (Leslie, Emelie, Shirley - 13th) (machine embroidery)
    June
    • BD card (Karen - 10th) (purchased)
      Father’s Day (Anders, Matthias - 17th) (purchased)
    July
    • Anniversary card (E&M - 18th)
    August
    • BD card (Matthias - 6th)
      Anniversary card (L&A - 16th)
    October
    • BD card (Emelie - 4th)
      Halloween card (Iris)
    November
    • BD card (Anders - 5th)
      BD card (Sonja - 9th)
    December
    • BD card (Shirley)
      Christmas ornament (Iris)
      Christmas ornament (Sonja)
      Christmas ornament (Julia)

That's one scary list! You will be the toast of the forum, and I, personally, shall buy you whatever your heart desires in the Stash and Grab next New Year's Eve when you accomplish it all. (But don't forget doing nice things for yourself!) :wip: :wip: :wip:

Well, that's certainly great inspiration! I don't really expect to accomplish every single bit of it, though. Some cards will probably end up being machine embroidery designs or even computer-generated cards.

That is one scary list and I daren't even think of doing something like it. This month alone I have 3 GC + 1 son B.days plus a 27th wedding anniversary and 11 other friends. Almost as full of 'special dates' are April, August September October and December. :)

Greetings!

Wow! Where has half the year gone and what happened to all my stitching goals?

For one, much of my CCS time has been taken up with a felt kit Christmas stocking for DGD and now along comes another grandchild due in December, so I will soon start another felt kit stocking.

Much of my CCS works are for greeting cards, so this year, in lieu of CCS cards, I am opting for machine embroidery designs, computer program cards, or purchased cards. Also, a card-making friend sent me a bundle of various hand-made cards of hers that I’ve been using.
So here are my only two cross stitch accomplishments thus far in 2018 … two Easter cards …

This faberge tulip egg is from Durene Jones 2017

These butterflies are from Shannon Wasilieff, 2018.

I do have some WIP gnomes that will be Christmas decorations for myself, but I'm not putting much time in on them yet.

  • You're so sweet, but, as you can see, I haven't done so well. As for doing nice things for myself, I purchased a new sewing table which is really fantastic. Besides purchasing some great storage drawers for underneath the table extension leaf and decorating them, I have made myself a couple of knit scarves, a table mat, a table "scarf" for my little round end table, a serger cover, a sewing machine cover, a travel iron tote, a Bindle Bag, some knit dish cloths, some quilted pads for under my embroidery machine and serger, a project tote with trolley sleeve and coordinating small bag for tools, a flannel caftan, a couple of zipper pouches for eye glass cleaner in our vehicles, a chenille wall hanging, a lavender wand, and a paper umbrella for my wine bottle cat decoration. So you can tell that I do take care of myself along the way!

I post pictures of these and all my other crafts on my blog.

Well you might not have done very much from your list of projects, but you have certainly been busy with a wide variety of items needed for the house and to make life a bit easier. It is great to read about all your 'doings/makings'. :)

Greetings!

I definitely did not reach my goals with CCS greeting cards in 2018, but I do have a few to show.

This card was for a friend's December birthday. The little bird is from Cross Stitch Collections.

You did however manage quite a lot of cards anyway and all beautifully stitched too. Well Done. I didn't get 1 done this year.

The stitching is excellent, and the way you've finished them is very clever. I'm sure the recipients loved receiving them!
