Cherries by Mystic Stitch - Update March 21, 2015

Post by JessicaLeigh »

I'm starting a new project that will be for my mother on Christmas... of one year or another. ;) It's called Cherries, and the design is by Mystic Stitch. My mom has a huge thing for cherries, and has dedicated her kitchen to her cherry collection. So, I'm adding to the masses! Here it is:

Image

The design is 300 x 300 stitches, for a total of 90,000 stitches, laid out on 20 pages. I'm going to be doing it on 25 ct. evenweave. As for my stitching, I haven't yet decided what I'm going to be doing. I'm torn between full x's and tent stitching, like I'm doing on my current HAED. I'm going to test each one and see which one I like better.

Right now, that's all that is holding me back from starting this project! Well, that and gridding the first page. :) I will be posting my first update picture soon, I'm sure!

Can't wait to see your progress on this one. I have it in my stash (destined for my own kitchen wall). Looking forward to seeing it stitched up.

Well it's been a while since I've worked on this. I've been busy with my new marriage and moving halfway across the country! I've finally had the time to sit down and relax, so I've made some pretty decent progress! Here's where I'm at as of this moment:

Image

It's been monotonous, to say the least. Most of this page is made up of 10 different shades of tan, and it doesn't start to get more interesting until the very bottom right hand corner. I know it will start to get really interesting after that point, I'm just trying to find the motivation to get through this first page. :)
