Hi from Bonny Scotland

Post by coucoubebe »

Hi

I started cross stitching about 25 years ago now, but have not done any for some time. I have one to finish, but to be honest, it is of an owl and almost every thread is the same colour. It is counted cross stitch and when I get it out, it takes me so long to find out where I am I tend just to put it away again, which is a shame as it is almost finished.

Nice forum here, looking forward to taking a look around.

Coucou xx

Hi CouCou, and welcome to the forum! It's a shame your project is not inspiring you at the moment. Perhaps put it away for a bit and do some instant-gratification small very bright and colourful designs? If you post pictures of your owl in the SAL section we'll all encourage you, and you could decide to do, say, one block of 10x10 stitches (or whatever feels right to you) per week, or month -- that might get it finished!

Welcome from the West, too. :P

Sorry you are having trouble finishing the owl (suspect we all have projects we can't face sometimes). Mabel's idea is a good one: put up a SAL, and we will all cheer you on!

Hello and welcome

Sorry you are having a bit of a struggle. I have done an owl too, and I would certainly have struggled with it if I hadn't gridded my fabric. This may help you too. Here is a link to a discussion about it.

Hi, I am from California and can see the Forth Bridge from my lounge window, so you are not far away. If your owl is nearly finished just think of how much better you will feel when he is done and you can get something that you would really love to stitch, just a few stitches, you'll get there.
Happy Stitching
