My first Christmas mail - a lovely letter, photos and calendar from long time (60+ yrs) pen friend in Oban. It took 9 days instead of the usual 4-5 though from Oban to Melbourne. Still great to catch up.

I got the latest cross stitcher issue from Kute Kitty who sent it to me and I am so excited.

yesterday i got that lavander aida that went missing during the postage strike, they sent another bit and it arrived,. The margaret sherry kitty decoration that i also got at the time of the strike did not show up and I was refunded yesterday. Stupid strike :x I never had mail go missing before. It's made me a bit wary now TBH, I am crossing my fingers other stuff I purchased will arrive, some from Australia and some from USA but still I feel unsure about the internet shopping all of a sudden.

don't worry *barb*, Mabel is employing reverse psychology! 8)

I received a lovely package from sew and so today, with two bits of fabric (a 25ct antique white lugana and a 20ct opalescent -- couldn't resist). The lugana is to combine with caron rainforest and a lovely bronzy pearl 8 cotton (also in the package!) to make up Mary Hickmott's blackwork butterfly from issue 197 of New Stitches. Yet another thing to start in the New Year.

WOXS and Cross Stitcher, one with a lovely little Nelson's World diary (with some cute charts) and the other with a huge Emily Peacock chart (saying "HUG") which I've been admiring at the stitching show

Finally received my fabric and thread off ebay from UK. I realised after it had been sent that I had forgotten to update my paypal address when I moved so it had to be sent from UK to Aust to my old address then get redirected to my new one and then someone had to be home to sign for it. BUT its here now so i'm happy

I got 2 lots of extra large sized 18 count (much cheaper even with postage than I can find anywhere over here) one in a gorgeous baby blue colour and the other just plain ecru. and also ordered one skein of dmc 4240 just to have something fun to play around with.

Wow those are all great!!

It's been a while since I've ordered anything online. The last thing I got was the Happily Ever After pattern from 123stitch. I absolutely love ordering from them!! Oh and I got my Dolly Mama Cross Stitch B!tch kit too!!! I'm anxious to start it but have been good with the self controll so far. Before that I got a free kit off of Janlynn.com, I am part of a Hearts of Cross Stitch group on facebook. I entered into the Dolly Mama contest they had and since there weren't that many entries they gave us all a free kit from the free kit section of the site. It would have been free anyways but we didn't have to pay shipping for it so we actually did save.

Nothing stitchy related (I'm hoping to have lots of stash as Xmas prezzies, so I'm holding off the XS supplies)

However, I recieved a memory card ready for the digital camera that I bought for Xmas for my step-daughter
and I got the new insurance and breakdown cover documents for the motorbike that I bought last week. It's been killing me that I couldn't ride it without any road tax, so I had to wait for the insurance confirmation first!

So, finish this night shift at 7am, go home for a few hours sleep, then hopefully ride the bike up to the post office to sort out the road tax disk ... then maybe go for a short blast on the bike before I have to be back for work tonight.... At least I no longer have to rely on public transport etc any more
