A cross stitch proposal!

Post by crossstitchpro »

I can't remember if I posted that my son got engaged a few weeks before Christmas. Anyway...here is how he did it!

My son is really into cycling. He even made his own bike. Last year, his girlfriend cross stitched him a picture of a bicycle with the words, "It's all about the Journey".
In october, he told us that he was going to ask her to marry him and that there would be an announcement before Christmas. We waited and waited. What was taking him so long? The reason was....he was stitching her a cross stitch piece he designed himself!!! It took him weeks to stitch it because he's never stitched a thing in his life.
So...on the evenful evening, he cooked her a lovely dinner. After dinner, he gave her the cross stitch piece that said, "Will you share the Journey with me?" Then he got down on his knee and and proposed, and she started crying and said "yes!"

When I heard that story, I got all teary-eyed my self. I didn't know my son was so romantic! What a guy.

Anyway, thought I'd share that will you all.

Very Very nice. What a great way to start out, things in common and the thought and effort he put in to the proposal. They should make a great pair. Congratulations now the wedding plans begin. Good Luck.

Deep down men can be very romantic! Sometimes it just takes us a little longer to get it together than women, but we will surprise you now and then!

What a lovely story to tell the (eventual perhaps) grandchildren. My boys, for what it's worth, are really both very romantic in their own ways. The coarse modern world doesn't make it easy for young men to show these sorts of feelings, though.

The best thing is that they are so right for each other. They want the best and bring out the best in each other. My husband and I met her last year and it was love at first site for us.

The wedding date is June 1.
