I got an Ott Lite!

Post by kerbear879 »

I took the plunge and decided to finally get an ottlite. I just got a little desk lamp one since they were 50% off at Joanns. I think I may have to just test it out tonight. :D

Ooo, congratulations. I really want one of the uplight boxes by daylight but from what i have read it sounds like the buld is not replaceable and the price is not to my liking. Have been looking on eby every now and then for a secondhand one cheaply to see if i would get on with it.

I just have an ordinary lamp and sit on the couch near the window and do have a clip on lamp for a hoop but rarely use it.

Sounds exciting trying out the new Ott Lite, they are really good so will be interested in your comments too. I have a really good tall craft lamp which has 2 light strengths to it.

Barb, quilt shops sometimes have uplights and I know the one in use in our (late lamented) quilt shop had its bulb replaced. Might be worth checking out.

I bought one some time over the summer.. when JoAnns was having a 50% off sale on them (which I have noticed.. they are ALWAYS on sale at JoAnns.. why not price them as such) This is the one I bought, but mine is black, and was $10 cheaper. It really does make a difference.. especially when stitching white on white.

My wonderful DH bought me an Otte Lite standard lamp several years ago and it's brilliant as it doesn't get hot if you have to sit close to it. I've only had to change the bulb once so far and had no trouble getting hold of one.
