Busch Gardens pictures November 12 2010

another wonderful visit to my favorite place to play--beautiful weather yesterday and managed to get a few pics to share with you.
This is taken thru a window--part of the nursery located in the park--of a macaw--love the fall display around it

This is a pair of frogs that's in one of the aquariums near the nursery--thought they looked rather cute

this is a mandarin duck getting a drink in one of the walk thru aviaries

One of the newer areas of Busch Gardens--features a nice tiger area--just loved taking pics of them

This beauty is sleeping on top of one of the viewing areas--

Newest part of the part features lots of wallabies and kangaroos

Couldn't resist taking a picture of this monarch butterfly

And last of all a pair of lionesses

Busch Gardens is located in Tampa, Florida, which for me is a very short distance away. I'm fortunate enough to live close enough so I buy a pass that lets me visit as often as I like for a year.
Thanks everyone for the very nice comments, and Faith, even though the tiger does look close--it's amazing what these newer camera are capable of doing, and the tigers are in a very nice area that has loads of viewing stations that are located in various spots around the tigers--many of which are thick glass or plexiglass

Great photos! We visited Busch Gardens years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.

For a somewhat smaller scale of creature, my brother and I visited the Niagara Falls Butterfly Conservatory when I went to visit him last weekend.

It's like a greenhouse with tropical trees and plants, and hundreds of butterflies flying free. You have to be careful you don't step on any! One sat on my brother's shoulder for 10 minutes as we wandered around.

There are species from all over the world. Here are a few photos.

As you said earlier, digital cameras are great! I took about 60 pictures and was able to delete about 20 of them to keep the best.
