I started this in March last year, intending to do one section each month. The plan was do do March in March, April in April etc. This worked well for the first two months and then it all went pear-shaped when I discovered too many other cross stitching possibilities.

I'd only just started stitching again after about a ten year break so the first one was a bit untidy. Also, I discovered that I can't do French knots so please don't look at those.

Image

The French knots on this one gave me just as much trouble as they're the same size on the tiny ducks as they are on Pooh Bear. This means that the ducks look like they're wearing sunglasses. However, the ducks on the picture look exactly the same so who am I to argue?

May's got done in July

It took a while as there was a lot of backstitch on that net and I'm not a big fan of backstitch.

Image
I've just retrieved this from the bottom of the WIP pile and am now working on June. And yes, I do know it's now March again.
Sunflowers. Pah. They've been a nightmare. Two colours that are very similar and mixed in with fractionals. On Aida. Lots of fractionals. If I'd known then what I know now, I'd have used evenweave but it's too late to restart it now.
I shall do the backstitch on the flower before I go any further to get it over with and then it should be plain sailing.

Image

Thanks for looking. Now I've got a SAL thread, I'll be more motivated to get it done :)

I love this! Winnie and his friends have always been favourites of mine. Where is the pattern from?

It's a Debbie Minton design for Designer Stitches UK Ltd and is part of The Winnie the Pooh Collection. It's code H12. I bought it about ten years ago though so I have no idea if it's still available.

This is really cute :) (By the way: Is it possible to stitch Winnie the Pooh and it doesn't look cute?)
I hope you hang on to the calendar, it's really worth it :)

Looking great so far! And I echo Nachstenliebe's comments re: French knots.

June is finished after a marathon effort over the past two days. I've picked up lots of tips from here since I started this, which have made this one easier to do. I did the backstitch as I went along which was a huge help. His mouth came out much better than on the previous ones, and I actually did the French knots on the first attempts. What's more, I think I'm actually happy with them

Thanks for looking.

I have just picked up on this thread.Your stitching is lovely and I love your commentary especially regarding french knots and the fact that although you weren't happy with them you still did them (btw they look great to me) and now you are happy with the recent ones. I still have trouble with my FN quality after years of trying. I like Pooh and friends too and June's design is so colourful, I love the sunflowers. Looking forward to July :applesauce: :applesauce:
