I've been stitching so much lately I've been ignoring the horrible news of the world. I was just taking a look on the internet and remarking to my husband about how horrible it is. He said, "Don't look! Get out of that news site!" (I'm a worrier.) So I started shopping for silks and about fainted at the prices. He asked me if I was still reading the news and I told him, "No, I'm shopping for silk, but you may prefer me reading the news." He said, "Keep shopping for the silk."  @rotfl:

Thanks for the link to that beautiful blog!
If only I'd ever had a husband like that!

Great progress! I want to do one, too, but I doubt I could afford the silks!

I hear you! I wouldn't be doing this if I hadn't gotten birthday money. Yay birthday money!

I don't know if silks ever go on sale, but I'm going to be on the look out.

I am working on her flower fairy garden after taking out a small mortgage for the kit! I've nearly finished the first quarter except for the beads and crystals that I will leave until the end. I am loving working on this and love all of the sparklie thread :D

Oh I absolutely adore this design, I would love to stitch this too, and you're doing a great job so far.

I love the details in this piece and I bet its so sparkly what with all the treasures and beads, can't wait to see more.

It's beautiful already -- what's the name of the Gloriana blue colour?
I love working with silks, and the soft ones like Gloriana are generally quite well-behaved; it's the very shiny flat silks that give silk its bad reputation :-)

Just looked that up on Stitching Bits & Bobs -- it's such a bright combination of colours! And looking for that one I found lots of other pretty ones... I particularly like White Pistacchio

Such pretty threads. I don't know that I am ever going to be using these but I keep bookmarking all these different websites with threads and fabrics and lovely stash. Its a good thing that the computer doesn't run out of space since I have more places bookmarked than I have time to look at and still have time to stitch.
