I love rhyme and reason too, I have a couple of Christenson designs on my wish list, they remind me of doing jigsaws with my mum when I was younger, she had a few that depicted his artwork.

My HAED giveaway ended last night, and the winner chose Summoning Fire by J M Leotti for her prize. I had 59 entries and it was fun to see all the charts that the stitchers chose.

I also got an e-mail yesterday notifying me that I had won a Traveling Stash Box that's making its way through the USA. I should receive that next week and will be holding a drawing on my blog to see who gets it next. I apologize to our international friends, but this one was set up as a flat rate shipment through the US Postal Service to keep costs down.

Both are lovely charts. I cannot imagine what stitching Underworld would be like, but my goodness how gorgeous after it was done. A decade to do it??

I agree with you Carole about underworlds. It would be amazing done but them i have the what would i do with it once its done question which seems to be the only thing restricting my haed purchases! What would i do with it once done?

I know. That is why I am so seriously thinking of how I can do an HAED afghan, like I have done other afghans. I am really starting to lean towards the cute little dragons because they are in general smaller and I think it would be a great fun theme that I wouldn't get tired of. I of course love the cats also, but I have one and 1/2 cat themed afghans. and I still have my fairy afghan to finish also which sort of makes me not want to do them. I am thinking that maybe one or two of the more "real" dragon patterns and then surrounding them with the cute ones or just doing the cute ones would work well. What do you think?

Wouldn't you frame it and put it on the wall? When I looked for a larger picture and saw it on the net, it looks quite amazing. As one LNS owner told me, HAEDs come out looking like paintings until you get close enough to see the stitches. I only started stitching HAEDs in January, but I know mine will be framed when done. I'm also doing all I can to speed up my stitching and get more finishes!

butterfly wood which is the haed i'm doing will be framed and i know exactly where it will go but some i'm not sure where i'd put them in my house. ↲
Carole i'd always lean towards cute dragons but do like the idea of a more serious dragon surrounded by the cute ones.

I think framing HAED's is what makes most sense for most people. My walls are filled with paintings that my husband did the years he was retired and before he died, and they are there and not coming down. So I don't have wall space for most of my cross stitch. That and the cost of framing got me started on the afghans, plus I haven't had to eliminate as many patterns when I'm trying to decide which to do. You can get a lot of patterns on an afghan. And I like the softness of the fabric. Still and all, I am now doing some that will end up being framed and will worry about where to hang them, or who to give them to as gifts.
Now I just have to figure out which serious dragon and which cute dragons to grab up during this sale and then the next one, since there is still a lot of time to do this. And the cats too. There are some awsome cats and I have two already! See what your bingo has started! or continued to be honest.
