Christmas afghan all finished!

Post by Kute Kitty »

I started stitching a Christmas-themed afghan late last year. I put it aside when we entered 2011 because it felt so very wrong working on something Christmas-themed when we were just in to a new year! I picked it up again at the beginning of this month and have just this weekend finished it. I’m absolutely delighted with it.

It’s 14 count evenweave, stitching done in all 6 strands over 2. I did the backstitching in 3 strands. It was a lot of fun, somewhat like being a little child again and playing with finger paints! Now back to the grown-up world, working on my HAED on 22 count!

Here come the pictures…

:applesauce: :applesauce: LOVE it. But then it is the afghan nut speaking. What afghan fabric did you choose? It is just lovely. Isn't it great to do all that work and have such a lovely piece? The elephant, kitty and Christmas Rabbit are great.

It is lovely to have it finished - and it was lovely to have it when I was stitching it in the cold weather, to keep my toes warm!

It's a Lady Elizabeth afghan, from Charles Craft - I bought it from Wimblebees last year in their closing down sale last year. The little hedgehog has proved very popular! It's the second time I've stitched him, the first time I put him in a coaster for my partner (now ex). All the charts were either ones I had in my stash from magazines or else freebies I found online, I know the elephant and possibly the cat were ones I found on http://www.cross-stitching.com" target="_blank.
