Didn't I hold out for a long time

Sigh. You knew I wouldn't resist the loveliness that is the ToS, didn't you. So, I've negotiated the minefield that is Yahoo and have joined the group. There are some very familiar faces there...
I've discovered that no matter how many filters you set up, the emails that you're waiting for always go into the Junk folder, but I do have the files now so all I have to do is choose some fabric and threads.

I'm hoping I've got what I need in my stash. I want to use 28 count and I know I've got some so with a bit of luck there's some that'll be suitable. I think I want to use just one shade of variegated thread for the treetop. Then another colour for the trunk, rabbit and owl. The colours will depend on what fabric I've got.

Update with photos coming soon with a bit of luck :D

:mexicanwave: yay. Another one Another one. There are so many of us. I just finished part 9 and loving it. Showed what I had done to a friend of mine who hasn't cross stitched for years and I won't be surprised to see her show up sooner or later. She loved the eyelots especially. I'm doing a stitch a day but that is now taking discipline. I can't wait to see your updates. It is really fun, Karen is so right. Now back to my HAED. :applesauce:

I also negotiated that minefield, but haven't started or chosen my fabric or threads. I plan on using whatever I have lying around. Can't wait to updates!

Great!!!!! :D :D And it is a ruddy minefield, isn't it? Don't know why they couldn't have a proper site, with forums, like this one. If that's a sample of Yahoo sites, I'm not going on another! It was only the TOS that got me there... and even so I nearly backed off when I saw how awful it was. Not the people or the stitchy projects - just the way the site works. :rain:

I thought it was just me getting confused- it is such a shame because everyone there seems so lovely and amazingly talented. In the end I closed the tab I had open for Yahoo emails because I simply couldn't keep up :( Going to try to check the main groups page every day and try to keep up through that.

I've chosen my stash. I'm using the offcut of fabric from Coffee Menu as it was just the right size and colour. I found the right colours of threads hiding in another LHN design that was kitted up, but there wasn't quite enough so I have to go shopping. I need to replace the ones that I've taken anyway.

I'm quite keen to get started now so I'll probably do part one tomorrow afternoon. Just need to hem the fabric first. Fingers crossed the sewing machine plays nice.

 the colours, I am using both of them for my LHN North Wind, and I love this fabric on your Coffee menu design, it'll look great with the the colours you've chosen. Looking forward to updates on your TOS

I am really looking forward to your updates on this one. The fabric will be such a pretty background for it.

I agree with what everyone said about the yahoo groups. I belong to another one but it isn't real active. I get the digest emails to do a quick look at what people are posting. The format is so overwhelming otherwise. Its a shame in a way because the people are so very nice and encouraging on that forum too. But maneuvering around yahoo is the price to pay I guess. That's why its so good to be able to come back here. This forum and format has me totally spoiled. In a good way. But I have to admit that I'm glad that the updates are on this forum too.
