Yup -- I am definitely crazy, 31 starts in 31 days. But it's a fun excuse to start all those projects that I never seem to get around to starting because I always have several BAP on the go. So far I am enjoying the challenge; I just wish I had more time to stitch before I have to put a piece down for a month (or more).

Anyway, on to the good stuff:

Day 1 - 2009 Ornament by Tor Rhuann Designs

Stitched on 18 ct white aida using HDF silk Ethereal Ice. (I love, love, love silks!! This is a trend throughout my UCJC. Just wait -- you will see all the pretties!!)

Day 2 - Fractal 284 Bookmark by Cross Stitch Collectibles

I am stitching this on 25 ct pewter lugana, over 1 full crosses.

Day 3 - Clover I by Mabel Figworthy's Fancies (my very first go at hardanger!!)

I chose to do this on 25ct white lugana using Caron Watercolours & Wildflowers in Emerald. Once I figured out what I was doing and got over being scared by the size of the Watercolours thread, I found myself really enjoying stitching this one. I'm sad to put it down.

Lovely starts and it's great to see Clover in that stunning green, what a wonderful idea! Glad you got used to the Watercolours thread, it's a bit different at first, but it looks beautiful. I saw on your blog you found the chart a bit confusing at first -- do ask if you have any problems with it and I'll do my best to explain a bit better!

(PS can I have a pic for the Gallery when you've finished? it's such a striking version!)

I should explain myself Mabel -- the chart itself isn't confusing, it's having to relearn how to read the chart because it's different than reading a cross stitch chart. Just took a while to wrap my head around it the first time. To be honest, your instructions are incredibly clear and easy to follow once I figured out the counting. My only real complaint is that the watermark on the chart makes parts of it more challenging to read.

I would be delighted and honoured to give you a pic for your gallery!

Glad to hear it was just the fact that Hardanger charts work a bit differently from cross stitch charts -- thanks for explaining!

The watermark is a bit of a compromise, I'm afraid; I hope it isn't too intrusive. I do try to make sure that (because most of the designs are symmetrical and have four rotated quarters) the watermark never covers the same part in all four quarters. But do let me know if it gets in the way, and I can send you that part without the watermark.

Day 4 - Tribal Butterfly by Sparklies

This is stitched on 16 ct aida by Picture This Plus using HDF 2125. I love HDF silk. Okay I pretty much love all silk ...

Day 5 - NATO Phonetics Subversive Sampler by Kincavel Krosses

Not subversive (yet). I'm stitching this 2 over 2 on 28 ct white lugana and the silk is Carrie's Creations in Fantasm. I think the colours are gorgeous!! The pic just doesn't do it justice.

great starts. I am going to love encouraging you on this challenge. I love the thread's you are using on Kell's design. and the butterfly looks really interesting. can't wait to see what is next in your challenge.
