great update. I love the colors and is that her hair that I am seeing? Its so much fun when you get the main character started. At least it is for me. You are doing a lovely job.

Yup! Hair, one arm, and her hand is all you'll see of her on this page.

I love seeing her take shape too. I debating on whether or not to do the page with her face next or save it for last.

I'm only just catching up with this one. What a beautiful design and you're doing a lovely job

I also have the same issue trying to count half stitches. I think it's because you don't have the full cross and so you have two holes empty per stitch until you stitch next to it. My brain just can't cope with it!!!

Almost finished page 2! Although, I have discovered a mistake and could use some advise. To add texture and dimension, the design uses both full and half stitches with different numbers of strands. The mistake I made is one of the shades of grayish brown in the tree was supposed to be full crosses with only 1 strand of thread, but I used 2. I didn't catch the mistake until I went and added some of that symbol to the sky (there are a few small lines of it amongst the blue if you look closely). The ones in the sky I did correctly, but now I'm trying to decide if I should frog that part of the tree or leave it be. There is another tree on the left edge of the design so I might wait until I get to that part before I make a final decision. That way I can try the other tree with one strand and see which way looks better. Any opinions?

Anyway, here's my latest pic:

I think your tree looks very good as does the rest of your lovely update.

I would wait and maybe try the other tree with the 1 strand and see if it is worth frogging first. You very well may like the 2 strands better or if the trees are a little different it might not be noticeable, or like in real life, every tree is different from every other one. Unless it eats away at you, I would just take a wait and see approach. You can always fix it later.

This picture is so gorgeous and your stitching is so beautiful! I think the tree looks just fine as is, so I would go with what the others have suggested and wait before changing anything. Like Carole said, if you do the other tree differently and then decide you want them to match you can always change it later on

Thanks for your comments, ladies. I think I will wait until after I don the other tree and then decide if the effect is worth changing the first one for.

For now, I am finished page 2!

Well, the cross stitching. There will be backstitching at the end, of course.
