These two thread colors seem so close to me. They're both white. Apparently, there is a slight difference. Does anyone know which is crisper? I started filling in my xbox controller on my project and figured I had enough pre-cut and that was 2 years ago. It didn't fill it in and now I have no clue which one I used. I have a ton of each and I don't remember which one I used. Anyone know a good way to tell the difference short of stitching a section and seeing if it loosk different?

I call 5200 "bright white" I think it has a slight blue white tone to it. A little cooler, a little brighter, crisper.

I think blanc is a little warmer white

I used 5200 on an all white pattern against red fabric.
I recently used blanc on the body of a lighthouse.
And I did get them mixed up- but after a block of stitches, you can really notice the difference

I completely agree with Maggie B5200 aways seems to be a brighter white.

I find the 5200 to be much brighter as well, and really prefer to use it in most of the stitching I do that calls for white

Definitely B5200 is a bright hard blue white. Sadly its so hard to buy here downunder - most shops only stock Blanc which is soooo annoying when one wants to use the other.

Hold them together in a good light and you will see the difference.

Sally, I don't have any trouble getting it. I prefer the bright white for most things unless it's against a cream when it doesn't blend in as well.

I prefer Blanc for blending purposes.. but if you want colors to stand out.. I like B5200.. Natural day light is the best thing for figuring out which is which..

Can you lay a skein of each against the project in good, but not bright, light? That usually shows it up.

Zweigart fabrics match them as follows: Zweigart White (100) goes with B5200, Zweigart Antique White (101) goes with Blanc/White
