I've ordered the thread from Across Town Stitching and actually asked Louise not to send me any of the order until she'd got everything as she usually sends what she has with any others following later.

I figure delaying the arrival of the thread is the only way I'm going to delay starting this.

I'm trying to tell myself that I need to do this, this and this before starting but I know that won't happen once I have everything!!!!

Emma, just STITCH! it is such a big piece you starting now isn't going to make much difference to those starting in April, it is only a few weeks. I cannot resist a chart that I really want to stitch, I can just see you with your fingers twitching,admit it, you are done for, might as well STITCH!

Confession done!!!

Chart now nicely in a new document file so sat looking through it!!! Will mark on it where to find threads that I'm stealing from stash elsewhere!! Have worked out that a few of the threads on the first page I have in my stash!!! Fabric and gridding pen should arrive tomorrow!!!

Have promised myself I will finish Q and R on my baby afghan so aiming for 1st March start which should give me enough time to grid a good portion of the fabric also!!!!

Good. I would never have been able to wait a whole month knowing that everything was there crying to be started. Its so hard to not start every new chart once you actually have them in hand. At least it is for me. That would be one reason to join the January challenge. Then I would have an excuse to start everything. (started Tabbies last night. couldn't resist, so I am speaking from experience). I am so eager to see how this one looks when you start. Don't wait too long before you do your first post.

It sounds like you have too much guilt over this purchase.. we need to fix that stat! the Sistine Chapel is a GORGEOUS design and you deserve to enjoy to stitch it guilt free..

Ha ha I've been reading your posts and was thinking you were talking in code,until I realised that you were referring to the works you have in progress! You certainly are working on alot of large projects,look forward to seeing them develop especially the Sistine Chapel!!!! Good luck xx

My OH is now actually getting quite stroppy with me, says I have too much on the go and really doesn't understand why I need to start another one!!!!

About twelve months ago, I had a strop, I had two projects on the go at the time, one was a gift and I basically ranted at him that I didn't see the point in cross stitching anymore as I never had any time to do it!!!

He thinks the rant was because I'd got two projects on the go and that was stressing me. But it basically boiled down to the fact that we had a 6 month old daughter and he was leaving everything to me because I was still on maternity leave. I'd barely found time to stitch once a week whereas two months after Christmas he's bragging that he'd had 10 books for Christmas and had managed to read them all!!!!!

I rejigged things and basically decided that as long as everything the little one needed was done by 8pm then that was stitchy time. Now I am working 3 days a week he does pull his wieght more even if he does need a little nudge now and again.

Oh boy do I understand that for sure! My situation is different of course.. but I had similiar situations with my own hubby.. I found out you have you have to be VERY direct and specific or otherwise they think you have everything covered...
