Here are the next two

2...Appenzeller

Image
these birds originate in Switzerlandand there are two varieties; The Spitzhauben, which means Pointed Hat, the name of which came from the frilly hat's worn in the Appenzeller region. This variety has a'V'comb and feathered crest.
the Barthuhner (or bearded hen)has a rose comb and no crest. Both varieties are mostly used for show but are fairly good layers as well.

16...Leghorn

Image
Also known as the Livorne from the name of the port in Italy from where they were first exported.
There are many colour variations of this bird of which 18 are acccepred in Britain including Golden Duckwing, Lavender and Red. White birds are coomonlu used for laying

Here we go for day four...

5...Belgian Blue
Image
Developed iin the Uccle region of Belgion these small birds (M 26 ounces - F 22 ounces) are primarily an ornamental show breed although they are very good layers. As their name suggests they have evenly shaded Slate Blue plumage.

6...Cochin

Image
Chocin is the Chinese name for these birds and this is where they originated, and they were exported to the USA around 1845. They are large, fluffy feathered birds with fully feathered legs and feet. Although the skin is bright yellow, feather colours range from Buff to Black and from Silver to Gold
