Hope you're not too hot over there . We've had about a week of proper summer weather after three months of cold, wet and windy weather. Hurrah!!!

Yes, I think LOTR will seem very dark but I will be into more of the chain so it won't be as black as usual. I think.
We have a heat advisory today. High 90's F (sorry guys I haven't a clue what it is in C) but will feel like 110 -115 by mid day. Even a bit warm for the SE United States, but not unusual for the middle of summer. There are hotter spots. It will cool off by October.

When I get back to this one, I was planning to keep going on this page so it would be another square. But it would be fun to see more of her face and the kitty.

Very nice update Carole. I don't know how you manage to stitch on the afghan with the weather being so hot--I know I've been putting off stitching on my bird one for just that reason--even with central a/c I just can't seem to want to stitch on it--LOL
You've really made a lot of progress on this one and it's looking so very amazing!!!

Gorgeous update Carole - for stitching on an afghan in that heat ! As Jo said we've had a week of summer here (about all we're gonna have probably!) so I've not done much stitching for me as you have to make the most of the sun when it shines over here, it is such a fleeting visitor!

Phew...115 F is about 45c or thereabouts ....and I thought I was hot with the weather being about 28 C here thats about 80 F, but then again I don't have a/c here, we just don't get the sun often enough for the expense...but boy I wish I had it today!

Now that it is so much cooler (cold for here) I am back to afghans active in my rotation. May have to do some switching around since they don't get stitched much in the summer. I finished another "quilt" square before I went to Florida. I wanted to do more than one square so next time it's up, I am going to do a lot more. It is so much fun to stitch.
Laverne was DELIGHTED to see her favorite afghan out again for stitching.

The hoop is a perfect size for a cat to sit in. We have some very serious battles about where she can sit while I'm stitching this. Picture a not small kitty coming over the back of the chair to crawl over my shoulder to sit on the hoop. I do win. Eventually.

The square does have another little branch in the bottom right corner, but I had an early plane to catch so it will need to be finished next time I get to it. I took a different piece with me and am still working on it so will do an update on it later.

How I LOVE Laverne!! She really does seem to be happy to see the afghan out again!! I just came back into the lounge to find Penny curled up on my q-snaps on top of my stitching - normally I don't mind but it was on the hand dyed fabric so she got a quick shift!!

The afghan, itself, is wonderful!! I love the detail and it looks fantastic!!
