Cristaltipps stuff, Mabels Fancies designs update

Post by cristaltipps »

I decided to open one thread for all my stitching except my HAED as i seem to lose them :) I have not been idle lately and have been enjoying some hardanger and some crocheting as well as finishing some cross stitch off

Firstly i bought a frame from a charity shop and decided to design something in hardanger to fit it, this is my practise piece, the centre of which will be cut out and used in a coaster as i got ne just the right size out of a magazine :)

Image

This got tweaked to become the following now i am not sure if it looks ok or if it needs a little something in the white unworked strip opinions would be welcome :)

Image

Next i had a go at one of our very own Mabels designs Bon Bon i did it in 2 different colourways and made them up as wall hangings for gifts

Image

Image

then i finished Father frost he is just waiting to be framed now thanks for the kind words that gave me the push to complete him

Image

Again sorry for the poor quality pics it is definitly a ligthing /flash problem

This is another of Mabels designs it is called Berrington Hall II and i decided to do it as whitwork i am loving the effect but equally would like to do it in a colour sometime as well

Image

here is a slightly angled picture to show the texture of the stitches

Image

Thanks for looking :)

Terrific stuff. You must have melted a couple of needles doing all of that stitching. Looking forward to seeing how those hardangers finish up. Father Frost is impressive.

Lovely stitching and great to see some more of Mabel's work in white. It's so nice to see the contrast with the gorgeous colour choices and how architectural and beautiful the stitches are on their own without any colour embellishment.

:applesauce: :applesauce: These are all so beautiful! I also can't decide which I love the most. The white on white is so pretty, but then I adore the colors also. :thinks: Can't decide so I guess I'll have to love them all!

A few updates

Berrington Hall finished this was the only way i could get a picture of white on white where you could actually see the stitching lol

Image

Next a couple of Mabel small's which i shall make up into greeting cards (notice i need to tuck the cut ends in on Veronica!)

Image

next is Clover

Image

I have done a couple more versions of Clover in Shades of green but have to apply the beads yet they are such wonderful little stitches :)

and finally Flodgarry which is not yet finished because i have taken Mabels design and put a bit of my own twist on it gotta say i am loving hardanger as much as my cross stitch which is being a little neglected at the moment lol

Image

Thanks for looking :)

Oh my, Berrington Hall lookes lovely in whitework! Thank you for doing it like that, it's wonderful to see the completely different effect.

And I really like your "extension" of Flodgarry, very creative and very effective. It's great when people give their own twist to designs!

May I pretty please use those two for the Stitcher's Gallery?
