Flying needles is exactly what's needed. We are quickly running up against the deadline. But progress is being made. Had I finished the bottom of the frame last time? Well, if not, here's an example of that, too. James's collar is done, apart from the button, which will be completed soon. I'm glad to have that finished, as it wasn't as easy to do as I thought it might be...! And it's a bit too subtle unless you can get up close. Hey ho, I'm NOT doing it again!! :tantrum:

Image

Then here is the furnace and its bricks, nearly done. I had to change from a sharp to a tapestry needle because I kept skewering myself. Fingers very sore. And, of course, you aren't meant to "count", but how else can you do this stitch if you don't?

Well, here we are. Will we meet the deadline? Ah, nope, don't think so. BUT we are making great time! Lots done, as you can see. Here is all of the centre panel, not entire finished, but great strides: bricks, more beams, wheels and rivets, and the infamous coat.

Image

And here is a close-up of the coat: basically it's a darning stitch (rather spaced out) in two shades of gray (dark warp and light weft? or maybe the other way around; the light colour is on top  ), with the little flecks of "tweediness" done in the green, purple and burgundy of the collar.

Just wonderful, Serinde.

Is there a penalty if you don't make the deadline ( like doing 1000 lines in your least favourite stitch)?
