What a stunning piece! I have been gifted several dozen Mill Hill kits (ornaments and the larger ones) but haven't had the nerve to start one yet.

Thank you! Yes, this is the paper that comes with the kit. It is nice and sturdy, yet flexible. It's not stiff like plastic canvas but it's not easy to tear like paper. It holds up well throughout the stitching of the project and I only noticed a tiny bit of fraying at the corners ( from handling) by the time I was done. That part can then be easily trimmed off. It almost feels like stitching a piece of starched fabric, stiff yet flexible. To get a feel for the type of paper that's used, you can start with a Mill Hill ornament. They're small and quick to stitch, therefore making it a nice intro into perf paper and beading.

I've been looking at these Mill Hill kits for a while, including the humming bird one. I think I may have to take the plunge as your finished piece is stunning!
