hey guys! this is my first post. I'm 18, been stitching on and off since I was 11. Started doing it a lot since I started college in the summer(I'm studying television/radio), I take night classes because I love cross stitching in the morning since I don't have good artificial lighting.

I just finished a little pillow featuring a little pumpkin in the Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue =] I used DMC equivalents.

Image
Image
^^^ I stitched on 14c Aida: Oatmeal. I stitched this for my friend, Lola, she likes things with a vintage type of look so I think she will like this.

Image
Image
^^^ I stitched her name on the back of the pillow with the main color of the pumpkin and an orange sparkle thread on the first letter as indication of capitalization. (let me know if you want specifics, this is my first post so I don't how detailed to be!!) I got the letters from an alphabet book I bought on yesterday. Lola's birthday is on halloween. She turns 18, we're both adults now =] I'm giving her this on later today.

Image
Image
^^^ general size is appx. 4 inches w/ fray border. Stuffed to about 1 inch dimension. This is the first pillow I ever made. I saw tutorial video but they used a sewing machine - not much help, so I had to figure it out on my own. I know it's simple but, what do you guys think?

Image
^^^ this is all I had time to finish this month. Oogie Boogie is a pattern I downloaded from Etsy; it was (I think) $3.50. I'm giving the oogie boogie picture to my friend Grace for her birthday witch was about a month ago, but on the day of her party, my dog got to it and licked the crap out of the middle. If you look closely, the stitches near his right leg are... sloppy. I can't unpick them because it's mounted on a cardboard, so.... I don't wanna talk about it. I hope she'll understand. "There's trouble close at hand" is what it says in purple sparkle floss. PM so I can send you a link to buy Oogie Boogie Pattern.

I finished Oogie Boogie Man over the course of 5 days, and the pillow in 3 days.

What fabulous projects and lucky friends.

There's Trouble Close at Hand rings true as the dog tried to eat her present. :) I'm sure she will see the humour. Plus, it still looks great.

Welcome to the forum. I hope to see more of your work.

Welcome to the forum and great job on your projects. The little pillow is adorable and the green guy...very cute, dog licks and all. The doggie licks just make I even more special. :-)

I love the little pillow!

Here's my second piece from this magazine, just finished tonight. It's after Halloween so I'll have to wait till next year to really enjoy it but I'm glad I pressed on and got it done.

Happy Halloween looks great.

I'm still working on Fire Burn. It will be a while yet as I only work on it during breaks at work and those seem to be almost non-existent lately.

I hope others continue to show their work from the magazine. I personally can use a Halloween fix 365 days per year. :)

Right now I am roasting seeds from the final 4 pumpkins from our yard display. Mmm, mmm, good.

It is a small world, lol - I used to work in Garden Gove, Lampson & Valley View. Lived in Laguna though... I do miss living at the beach but I don't miss all the people. :)

:applesauce: :applesauce: Fantastic finish on the skull!!! It looks amazing! :stars:

I didn't do anymore from this mag this year like I intended :( However I am currently taking a break from my 'Butterfly Forest' to work on a Halloween project by Mill Hill designs called Midnight Farm. I'm almost done and will post the pic here. My son gave it to me as a gift last Christmas and I promised him I would work on it around Halloween. I had to drag myself away from my butterflies to work on it and I wasn't 'feeling it' but it is turning out cute! Better late than never I guess!
