I'm Back

Post by Squirrel »

Welcome to all the Newbies in the last 10 days or so.

Congratulations to all who have successfully completed all their Christmas and other stitching projects - Well Done.

Congratulations to all who have had significant happenings and commisserations if its been not so happy events.

Its been a wonderful 10 days with 2 of my sons and their families, my DIL has fed us royally (not getting on the scales yet) the weather has been generally great and wonderfully cool with no humidity and all in all a lovely holiday. I caught up with some friends face to face, saw some places not visited when I used to live down in Melbourne and have come home ready for another holiday to recuperate.

I will slowly catch up with all happenings over coming days - the forum sure has been busy whilst I have been away and I have missed it a lot but just too much going on to wrestle with a strange computer!

As for stitching whilst away - literally about half a dozen cross stitches in the for the border of a card, 3 small motifs of hardanger and a larger 1 started (DIL wanted to see who it was done) and a little knitting on the cooler evenings.

Now to sort out washing, put stitching stuff out of the plastic carriers store acquired stash, and generally get myself together - a tall order!!!!!

Thank you all for your New Year wishes and a

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

Athalie, - not really bought much at all as no LNS within miles and most shut for the holidays - this being the time of year when schools are out for 6 weeks and many smaller businesses close for 2 weeks or so from Christmas.

However I did get to Spotlight - a large chain store full of linens, fabrics for sewing decorating and crafting. Bought a Fiskars circular punch for my larger cards, some #5, #8, and #12 perle's -on sale some of them - some needed anchor black thread - I've had enough of struggling with Anchor Marlitt so will switch to normal thread for the rest of the borders on my Chat. Spotlight only have 14 and 16 ct aida and I am well stocked up with those.
