Hello from Long Island
Hi from Long Island NY. I have been an avid stitcher for about 20 years, self taught. My Mom did beautiful work, the back being almost as good as the front lol. She said she didn't have the patients to teach me so I had to teach myself. Currently I have way too many WIPs . I am working on a large map of Ireland 225w/268h. It's in memory of my Dad. My next piece will be a Silver Lining Peace rose in memory of my Mom. Sorry that sounds so depressing but working on the map is very cathartic for me. I look forward to getting to know everyone, I'm never too old to learn something new.

Hi Anna and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! (Sorry that the storm that finally left here is on its way (or has arrived) to plague you too. ) Sounds like you are going to fit in perfectly with us. I hope you will post pictures of your work. The map of Ireland sounds so interesting. I learn something new almost every day on the forum. Looking forward to getting to know you too!

Welcome to the forum from New Hampshire. Great group here for any questions you may have. Pictures of WIP are always encouraged. We like to see each and everyone's taste in what they enjoy stitching.

Thanks Leroy! I actually noticed your hello since you are from NH. My husband and I are retiring to Hancock, NH in a little over 5 years. I love NH. I'll have to post some of my WIP when I have enough posts. Again, thanks for the nice welcome.

Too many WIP's? I don't think that's even possible, right?Anna114 wrote: Currently I have way too many WIPs . I am working on a large map of Ireland 225w/268h. It's in memory of my Dad. My next piece will be a Silver Lining Peace rose in memory of my Mom

Welcome from a newbie stitcher from Long Island. I think it is lovely that you are stitching projects in memory of your mom and dad and I am looking forward to seeing the map of Ireland. Sounds very interesting.

Hi Anna and Welcome from Brisbane its great to have you along. Your map of Ireland sounds challenging and will keep you busy for a while I guess. Love the idea of then stitching the Silver Lining Peace rose which is a gorgeous project. I have seen it stitched by a friend down in Melbourne and it is well worth the work put into it.

Thank you so much for all of the warm welcomes! I do love to stitch. When I can I will post the map of Ireland. It really is a lovely piece. I plan to identify Killkelly, Co Mayo. My grandmother is from there and my Dad would have really liked that.
