They're fab! I love the mixture of techniques with the applique felt as well as the cross stitch. It's really effective!

Yup! It's wool felt from Weeks Dye Works.

I also used DMC memory thread on the suns and trees, tons of seed beads and the buttons on the hills are from Hillcreek Designs.

I don't remember seeing the memory thread being used before (sorry if someone has used it and I have forgotten). I can see that you did couching for the trees. Did you use a paste or glue for the sun? I think it looks fantastic! How did you like using it?

:thinks:
I couched all of the memory thread with DMC 742, which is the corresponding color. I found it much easier to do the suns than the two trees. The suns, you only had to couch to secure them. For the trees, you also had to bring them around to the back of the work and whip stitch the ends, which I wasn't quite sure how to do properly but my method seems to have worked out ok.

Overall, I thought it was fun to use. It's easy to bend and adds a fun texture to the piece. Unless I have another chart that uses it, I probably won't use it again, simply because I wouldn't know how to incorporate it, but I did have a lot of fun with it. :D

The one thing I didn't do hath at I was supposed to was use fusing on the back of the wool felt. You were supposed to trace the pattern on to the fusing then iron it onto the wool, then cut the wool pieces out and fuse it to the work. I didn't have any so I just did the blankets stitch around it. I actually found that helpful since often times I had to trim the felt and/stretch it to make it fit the space like I wanted it to.
