fccs's 2014 little guys

Post by fccs »

I decided to start a separate thread for my "little guys" and here's my first. Thanks to the Stitch from Stash challenge, I dug this one out and started it on February 25th and finished it today. I bought the kit for this in May 2010 in Skagway, Alaska (the forget-me-not is the state flower). I switched out the fabric to this pale lilac aida (even though it doesn't really look lilac in the picture).

I bought a forget me not in Scagway also. But longer ago than 2010. Mine is smaller I think. I think it is stitched but not finished, might have been planning a fridge magnet. I'll see if I can find it.

I really only do minis. I love yours. Do you have a plan for it? I make lots of greeting cards with mine.

It's about 5 inches long so I'm thinking about framing it in an oval frame. Since it's a souvenir from my Alaska cruise, I want to keep it.

I'm hoping to make some other small guys for cards; do you make your own cards out of cardstock or do you buy the premade cards? I did one card that came with a magazine and it's a three fold card, which I really like. I'm hoping to find those somewhere (I've not really looked yet).

I made cards for the first time this year for a few birthdays and for Christmas cards. I found that the packs of cards at 123Stitch and Nordic Needle had the most variety and were the least expensive. Also came with a booklet filled with Hardanger Designs (though I didn't use any and found the instructions much less clear than Mabel's). I plan to do more of these in the future. They were all three fold cards and easy to use.

That is really cool! do they grow bigger in Alaska? I bet they do! as I always tell to my DH everything is bigger in that continent, especially car and food portion! @rotfl:

The flower is the same size, but you're totally spot on ref our supersized food portions and vehicles. :-)
