Re: Posting Pictures into a thread.
I'm pretty sure that some members use their smart phones to upload pictures, but I think you still have to go through a website like Photobucket or Flickr. I use Photobucket and like it a lot but there are quite a few sites that will work. They are free sites so you might want to see how they work for you.

Re: Posting Pictures into a thread.
Please help....
I tried putting a picture in my first SAL update and all that pasted was a link to my saved picture. How do you get the picture to show instead of the link?

Re: Posting Pictures into a thread.
I just went and looked at your post and what you are doing is adding the [img] to many times to the picture. When posting from photobucket you do not need to use the image button at the top of the post. just pick the img code from your gallery and past it into the post.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror

Re: Posting Pictures into a thread.
You have so awesome pictures, everyone. Unfortunately my pictures aren't that great to look at.
Well, at last! Now I finally found the right line from the menu! I used the right button of my mouse (don't ask, I can't explain) and I tried every single line on that menu, until I saw what I wanted. But it was not any easy thing to do. But I found it anyway. That's all what matters.

Re: Posting Pictures into a thread.
Yes, I get all this. Did it when I posted my first post. But why do I have to copy my pic onto a cloud site (is, surrender control of it) before I can post it here?
Is there no way to upload a pic to CSF directly from my laptop?

Re: Posting Pictures into a thread.
To show images hosted in the CSF gallery:
To get the image hosted
The limitation is that the image can only be used on CSF, as there is no '.jpg' or recognised image extension in the url.
Regards,
Richard.
To get the image hosted
- Click on the 'Gallery' button at the top of the page.
- Then in the line that says 'Menu My Albums Manage Albums Highest Rated Recent Images Most Viewed Upload', click on the 'Upload' bit.
- Fill in all the fields necessary (don't need a description) and press the 'Submit' button.
- Go to the image in the gallery.
- Click on the image itself. This will open the image with no border.
- Copy the URL of the image, it'll look something like this:
http://www.crossstitchforum.com/gallery ... ic_id=8360 - Go to the thread you want the image to show and put and (img) (/img) wrapper around the url - but use square brackets instead of round ones. I had to use round ones so they would display. so you get a url that looks like this:
(img)http://www.crossstitchforum.com/gallery ... 8360(/img).
When you use square brackets, this happens:
The limitation is that the image can only be used on CSF, as there is no '.jpg' or recognised image extension in the url.
Regards,
Richard.
