12 Days of Christmas

Post by wjreese »

Hello everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the beginning of spring! I just thought I'd check in as I've started a new project. It's from the Dimensions Gold Collection. Has anyone had any experience with this company? It's kind of a departure for me since I usually buy a pattern and go from there, or work on a photo converted to a pattern. It's amazingly involved. I've finished one of the 12 days, and it's taken me about three weeks. I'll be lucky to finish by Christmas at this rate! Incidentally, I'm using the colonial knot instead of the French knot. I'd never really done it before, so you can see the berries are a bit, well ... large on the top before I got the hang of it! Here's the one day I've got so far:

Comments? Suggestions? I hope to talk to you soon!

It looks great so far! Your stitching is very neat! I'm doing my first Dimensions Gold kit too and your so right about it being incredibly involved. I don't know about you but I have colour blending, varying numbers of thread and it's stitched in half stitch and full X's, mostly half stitch though.

It's taken me a while to get into it and there was a bit of :anotherfrog: right at the very beginning but I'm into the swing of it now and making more progress. As it's so involved I do get a great sense of satisfaction at each little section completed and I love seeing it take shape so much more than other projects.

I really look forward to seeing some more updates!

:applesauce: :applesauce: A beautiful update and so bright and colourful. Your stitching is very neat and even and good on you for doing the colonial knots. I must admit I seldom get them right so prefer to do the ordinary french knots.

A beautiful update and I am looking forward to the next one. :D

Lovely work. I've done a couple Dimensions kits and I think they're more intricate than first glance at the picture would indicate. I'll be looking froward to more updates on this.

Great start! I'm with you on the colonial knots in place of French ones. Much easier for some reason.

I'm in awe as usual of someone tackling a Dimmensions Gold chart, I hate them, BUT I have a load of them in my stash that I really want to do....I should take heart and do one anyway!

Look forward to more days!
