Afternoon,
I am not sure where this belongs. I was just wondering if anyone else has done a From Me To You cross stitch before.
I am currently working through this one
The backstitching on it is horrible and I have gotten to a part where I am stuck. The pattern backstitch lines are so thick, that I cant work out where I am meant to be going, over what colour or anything.
Does anyone else have the same problem and what did you do to over come it?

I haven't done that exact piece before but I have done me to you pieces before and I agree the backstitch is horrible. I think I cave up on mine and just stitched fur in where I thought it was necessary and completely ignored the pattern lol

I've done a LOT of tatty teddy projects in the past--and the backstitching is a major pain, but it's so worth it. I usually enlarged the chart to see the lines a lot better and for the most part stitched them as charted, but there were a few times where I just stitched it to my liking. Good luck, it's an adorable design

I started this one years ago and the backstitch did me in so it's in my WIPs and will probably never see light of day again. I'm sure it is worth it and maybe the idea of enlarging the chart might help, if it ever does creep to the top of my pile maybe I'll try that..... Good luck with it, I'm sure it'll be worth it

I've stitched a few Tatty Ted's now and always stitch them on evenweave its just a nicer way for all that backstitch I think. I'm also not too fussy about making sure the backstitch is the exact way its charted, as long as it looks ok and gives the effect its supposed to I am happy with that. Hope this helps even a little x
That is such a cute design and fun to stitch - until you get to the back stitch. \
I did a couple of Tatty Teddy ones some years ago and just put the b/s in where I thought it should go trying to get them where I thought the chart said was crazy.
I am sure it will come out right and look fabulous when finished.

I have a couple Popcorn kits, similar to that Tatty bear one. I can't follow the back stitch lines on the pattern because they show all the back-stitching in black lines, no variance, so I have to use the colored picture from the kit as a guide. Maybe that will help others?
