What a beautiful update! The shading under the chin does show and is absolutely perfect!

Wow! The shading looks incredible, and worth all the time spent on those tiny stitches.

Richard, you totally amaze me with all the things you do, not only the stitching itself but all the programmes you have 'invented/tweeked' so they are useable by others too.
Your stitching already looks more lifelike than a photo and I hope you are really proud of your beautiful work.

Re: Honeymoon Portrait Small Update 25 Nov 2014
Thank you all.
I came to this forum with the idea of learning new stuff, and I think I may have absorbed a little. With any luck this picture (when finished) will show whether any of it really has stuck.
However, in the mean time I must keep all satisfaction under control - it could still easily all go to rats. Also, I have found in the past that when I start thinking 'Maybe I know what I'm doing' it's the point at which I find I don't, and the point is driven home very hard, so I have to be doubly cautious at the moment.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: Honeymoon Portrait Small Update 25 Nov 2014
Haven't had as much time in the last week to stitch as I wanted (casting pen parts, PMC course, craft fair & making bits for the fair), however I do seem to be getting on quite nicely. Here's the plan chart index:
Still working on page 9 of the plan, and slowly filling in the cheek. I'm leaving the mouth until the rest is finished as it'll be quite complex and has a lot of colours in a small area. No colour editing on this photo, so is just a little washed out compared to the real colours:
I remain very pleased with this picture, it has been a real eye-opener for high colour and stitch count work. Beyond what I ever dreamed.
Regards,
Richard.

I think this is a beautiful bit of stitching and is going to be an amazing piece when finished. Definitely a joy to watch its progress!

Re: Honeymoon Portrait Update 11 Dec 2014
I've not had a lot of time in the last week to do stitching, but progress has been fairly fast. The picture now just looks as if her dentist needs shooting:

Re: Honeymoon Portrait Update 11 Dec 2014
The detail is amazing. Hope the dentist isn't shot before he is able to fix the teeth. Which I'm sure will be as lovely as the rest of the piece.Girlfriend wrote:So life-like! Great progress!
