Thanks Mabel :)

Post by nachosmiley »

I had a lovely afternoon today, I was lucky enough to attend one of our very own Mabel's shisha (mirrorwork) embroidery classes! I just about got it finished and had a lot of fun creating it! It's certainly not perfect but I'm happy with it for a first attempt!

First pic is a progress shot with.......cake and tea yum!

And my finished shisha flower!

Thanks again Mabel for hosting this I'll definitely be up for any other classes you run in the future. :D

Thanks Nacho, I'm glad you enjoyed the afternoon. It was great fun to do and raised some money for our church's building fund in the progress!

(If you're anywhere near Rugby on the 11th of July, there's another of these workshops with 8 places still available :-))

That is so very lovely & nicely stitched, Well done. Glad you could attend Mabel's class. I would love to as would many of us here. You'll laugh at this - I thought Dunchurch was in Kent & usually I look up on road map where places are I don't know so never gave it a thought until I saw someone said you & Mabel live near each other. Looked to see where you were then realised I had been thinking of Dimchurch which is in Kent. The dim bit certainly was apt @rotfl:

@lavenderbee  that made me giggle!

You are very welcome to use the picture Mabel :)

I had a lot of fun and yes I'm lucky to live so close to a wonderful designer who runs classes :)
I was especially impressed with the young lady who attended....she was what about 8 yrs old? Such a lot of patience for a young girl and she was so thrilled with what she and mummy made!

Sam, you're right, Milly is an absolute star -- I usually help out at our annual Holiday Club and when she's there she works with equal concentration at all the crafts, learning the songs and the actions that go with it, and all the team games. I'm eagerly waiting for her to be old enough to join the teenager group I help teach :-)

lavenderbee, Dunchurch is not exactly a metropolis so I for one don't blame you for confusing it with anything similar-sounding!

Oooh, I've just thought of something :thinks: :thinks: I live near that very talented hand-dyer who runs Cromatic Alchemy - I could save a LOT on postage there!
